Drift 5.0

The car is for drifting so the look is going to be eye-catching. Right now I'm thinking about a metallic copper color for the paint but we're still far off from changing the look - the car needs to drift properly first :)

How often do you go through a set of rear tires? What have you done to the E-brake to get things started...or is it all done with a little Scandinavian Flick and Throttle input? The car looks sick and i love seeing 5.0 do something other than go down the 1320 with bigs and littles! Nice

Right now our rear suspension geometry is all off and our differential is hardly working so tires tend to last. With a decent amount of power and good traction. Btw, does anyone make besides Steeda make this style of rear upper link? - http://www.steeda.com/store/images/suspension/5linkUpperArmSM.jpg

Our car doesn't currently have an ebrake because we switched to a 94 GT rear end and I guess the cables don't reach. I usually kick the clutch to start my drift because this type of initiation has the most impact.

What exactly do you mean kick the clutch? Sorry to sound ignorant but i certainly dont know a lot about drifting and i would like to understand what you're doing. Do you just mean bringing the rpm's up and dumping the clutch just to initiate a slide and get the wheels spinning? I think what you doin is pretty impressive...these cars definitely werent mean for anything like this! nice

A clutch kick is when your right foot is on the gas and you quickly stab the clutch (with your left). It shocks the driveline upsetting traction but it can be pretty rough on the driveline. Maybe these cars weren't meant drift but we're going to prove that they can hang with the best of 'em.

Aliate X - Let me check.

Yikes...Do you stab the clutch long enough for the rpms to rise much? This technique cant be good for u-joints! Good luck man

So far the driveline is holding up. It does make some terrible screeching noise the first time I reverse in the morning, but I think that is brake related, as the passenger side rear brake seems to be having some issues.

the upper link you have pictured is part of the steeda 5link system. I presume you want to go with a 3 link setup over the axle. The three link set up requires some very high rated rear springs.Probably will have to go rear coilovers. What kind of subframe connectors do you have??? It seems like you would benifit alot from maximum chassis stiffness. Is your lsd just shot or is the car not equiped, they are fairly easy to rebuild and modify if it is just worn. Have you read Mustang performance II by William Mathis He goes over alot of different suspension setups for the fox . has diagrams how to make the peices. Its a bummer I have somthing planned for tomorow I would love to come out to willow to check it out. Will check you site for future events mabye even give it a shot as I also have a wingless wonder 88 saleen. Chris
