DRIVERSIDE MIRROR SHAKES

I have a 2002 mustang convertible. The driverside mirror when the car is moving shakes. Just the mirror itself shakes and vibrates. Its annoying as hell because it makes it completely useless. The passenger side mirror is fine, it stays solid- unlike the driverside mirror which when the car gos over the slightest crack or bump it wiggles-shakes-vibrates. This also occurs when the radio is cranked up too. How do I fix this, or can I fix this- without having to buy a whole new mirror.

REMEMBER ITS JUST THE MIRROR ITSELF THAT SHAKES AND VIBRATES "THE GLASS"

ANY HELP WOULD BE WOUNDERFUL.

I'm having the same problem with my 03 vert.

I did take the speaker grill off and removed the speaker, but you only have access to the bolts holding the black piece in place.

I fixed it on mine

I looked up the correct way to remove the driverside mirror from the housing without brakeing it. Then I looked at the mirror head ball and tried to pick out anything that looked out of place or broken, or diffrent from a picture of how it is supposed to look working/fixed.

Finally I noticed there is a plastic piece in the center of the mirror head ball "circle" This is a piece of plastic wedged between the two automatic mirror motors. The piece looks like a popsicle stick that is 2 inches long, 1/4" wide with two holes, one hole on the top and one on the bottom. On the top and the bottom the plastic bracket has alittle plastic tip that sits in a hole located on the top of the circle and the bottom. This acts as a brace so the mirror is firm and stable- for situations such as rough roads, bumps, cracks and loud stereos.

Hope this somewhat helps. It may be diffrent for manual side mirrors and also may be not the exact cause for other peoples shakey mirrors

Common problem. Go to the dealer and buy a new one.

My 99 was like that, for a quick fix just stuff a nice piece of foam rubber
behind the mirrow, not very professinal but it works.
