The installation couldn't be easier, no need to even pull the drive shaft, just secure it directly to the seat belt bolts with the included nuts. The Branda piece isn't a full loop however, just a "U". Summit Racing, also sells a full loop.
Yes, in fact I had a driveshaft failure at Sebring during a 3 hour Enduro race. The rear piece stayed in the loop (did damage the tunnel housing) the forward section came out of the tranny and exited under the car on the drivers side.
The looped served its purpose. It is the Shebly non-loop style that is mounted in the seat belt holes.
