Drivetrain feels sloppy since SPEC stage III install?

Ever since I had a SPEC stage III clutch installed in my car it feels really clunky. When I drive or shift its fine but at lower rpm's and reverse it feels really sloppy. I get a lot of clunky sounds like there is slack in the drivetrain at low speeds ie. rolling and then giving it a little gas and such. Why is this?

I don't think it is the clutch, but I've driven a car with a stage III spec and it grabs hard, I think you have a problem and it just shows up more. Check your tranny mount, motor mounts, and rear suspension for broken or loose bushings or hardware. Also check the U joints.

Along with the new clutch I also had a SPEC steel billet flywheel installed, new throwout bearing, new motor mounts and tranny mount by energy suspension. Also the rearend was rebuilt along with new gears last summer.

I think it's just that the clutch is so tight, so other clutches have softer dampening springs in the clutch disc and I'm assuming that the spec III clutch has very little or no dampening affect from engine vibration, and when your at lower speeds the everything torques back and forth and your clutch doesn't dampen that either, I really don't think you have a problem with your drivline, and don't forget you are running 460ft lbs of torque so you'll have a little bit of that.

I reaching here....but maybe try readjusting the clutch cable. Maybe the clutch isn't disengaging enoungh at low speeds??? You've got a lot of new stuff so the problem has got to be something simple like that.

that clutch grabs HARD.

Unless you used locktite on ALL trans/bellhousing, and driveshaft bolts and torqued to spec, I'm willing to bet some of the bolts have worked themselves loose.

Recheck the bell to engine bolts, the trans to bell bolts, and then the driveshaft bolts. FYI, the driveshaft bolts are supposed to be torqued to 90 foot pounds. If you're putting it on with a closed end wrench, they're not tight enough. After you check all of those bolts, inspect your ujoints. If all of that checks out, the slop is likely inside of your rearend.

It also could be a failing trans mount, maybe even engine mounts, or it could be rear control arms/control arm bushings, etc.
