I cant wait untill mine gets back on the road.I bought it in Feb,installed the "rebuilt" motor that was hand honed with an electric drill to .060, drove it 3 days then had to pull the motor out again because it was smoking. Now it been suppost to have been done in a couple of weeks for the last 2-3 months.I keep running into parts that I need.Oh well cant wait untill its together again.

Hey man, it's me again... i'm glad to see your car is close to being done..... but are you saying i am the only one here with an I6 now, you said an engine swap, last I heard you had the good ole 200. Well good for you. What color is that thing gonna be now?? By the way, you going to throw a modern cd player in there? I have been thinking about doing that and am still not sure. Keep me updated.

i still have the I6...it'll be in there for probably the next 2 years at least. I'm most likely going to be painting it black with silver racing strips. And yes once I get the money i'll be putting a new cd player in there (cutting the dash) and some subs in the back with kick panel speakers and speakers in the back thing.I'm a teenager...i have to have the cd player haha. i gotta get the racing apron bought and fitted before the paint goes on...and i also have to get some dents out of the roof and on one spot of the trunk.

There is nothing wrong with racing stripes 302coupe, i got nothing against those, but i don't know anything about racing aprons, as far as i know those are for the restomod look. As for me, I am going for the bad @$$ look, bigger tires in the back giving the car it's aggressive look, and a great sounding exhaust is all i will need. Not to mention some tunes, as long as it is not from custom autosound

hey, I said I was kidding :)

Well only a sophomore here so I know how that goes, but luckily because of when my birthday is, it will be on the road by the second semester of school, wahoo. 302coupe, i wasn't trying to intimidate you, i was just pointing out that a car is a way of expression and that it shouldn't be limited by other people's standards. And "samburger", what's wrong with custom autosound is that all they offer is classic stereos and ten and six disk cd changers, have any of them ever considered putting the two together to make one simple cd playing head unit. Teenagers don't always have alot of money and alot of them don't like the classic stereos, so if they don't want to spring that much money for a cd changer, they should have the option of buying a unit designed for both cd's and stereo that is cheaper. But maybe that's just my opinion about it

Oh there was no intimidation, high school kids don't exactly strike fear into my heart  I've been where you guys are, my car was 6 until I went to college, however, it was a 250 instead of a 200, it actually surprised quite a few folks at red lights, it was all over at 40 mph though :( The V8 swap can be done for less than a good paint job costs, but hey-gotta impress the ladies right.
Custom auto sound is overpriced and poor quality-thats why people that actually listen to the stereo don't like them. Seems like they're normally bought just to fill the factory hole in restored cars.

I dont know, i like my custom autosound. If you want something that's cd playable from the front, you're going to have to either cut the dash (abomination!) or put the cdplayer in the glove compartment or under the dash somewheres and that's lame... imo. :) But Mine works great and sounds great... and looks like the original stereo. people are always like, you have a cd player?!

I'm not in highschool though, so... guess that's still an issue..

hahaha oh i'm definatley lookin for a ground shaker(by the way i hate rap...the shaking part is the bass of my rock music)...and I have no problem cutting the dash for a new face. I hate the way the custom autosound faces look, they just look bad plus I dont want my face out of my reach...it would be hard driving a manual to deal with.

True, i've spent about an hour looking into speakers and head units and subs and amps. This ***** is expensive, if I am going to do this, it will take alot of shopping around first. I think i might go to a car audio place and ask for suggestions and then do all the stuff myself. I can't stand rap either. but i would listen to that long before i would listen to country. I HATE COUNTRY MUSIC!! And i love rock music of all kinds. So i want it to be loud on the inside but it doesn't have to shake the ground. So brtnstrns, what are you thinking as far as head units and subs and amps. I like the JVC feedin infinities with boom coming from MTX's fed by an MTX, but i'm sure some of that will have to change....as for you?

i'm not sure...i'm gonna go to a custom sounds place cause ****in best buy doesnt do any "fabrication" work and wont cut my dash for me, but they're gonna give me a phone number of a company that will do a real good job of installing the face. then I'm gonna hvae my friends help me wire up the whole system...one of my friends knows how to do all the **** and is also building me my entire trunk including the sub box. I'm not sure what companies i'm gonna go for though...i still have time to look in to it. I still need to get a job to get some money to do it though
