Need to get opinions on the thoughts on a drum brake problem. YouTube vid below. But basically I think the cylinder is sticking but want to get other opinions. You can see the shoes are wearing on the top side only and actually the front shoe is hitting the metal. I have planned to take this guy apart and replace but it looks like PO has already replaced springs and such. I am ultimately trying to track down a vibration at 60moh and above. This side of brakes is obviously not right.

Does this look like a sticking cylinder?

It may be incorrectly assembled by the previous owner, it is easy to get it wrong.

Drum brake assembly

I recommend that you print this post and tape the second drawing up in front of you when you reassemble the brakes. It is very easy to do it wrong without the drawing in front of you.

The springs and shoes are position dependent, so look closely at the drawing when you put it back together. Make careful note of the FORWARD ARROW that points you towards the front of the car. When you install the brake shoes, remember short shoe goes towards the front of the car.

Here's two pages out of the factory shop manual...

Yeah going to double check that as well. I have a manual that I forgot I had to look at. LOL I took it off and the self adjuster is pretty bad and the last time I pulled the e brake it froze and I had to get in there to get it released. I think the cylinder is okay and I am leaning towards missing lubrication and just maintenance items.

Thanks for responding @jrichker

I finally drove the car yesterday and things are working good. And on a side note the Chilton manual I have is horrible. They either reversed the pics or something because they had the drum pictures with things in the opposite side of the drum. E.g. parking brake cable guide and assembly towards front if vehicle.

So your diagrams above helped tremendously on confirming my assembly process.
