Need to source a new interior quarter panel for my Fox, mine got a hole burned through it while welding the torque boxes…

All the ones in my area are gray and my interior is black. I just want to make sure, using aerosol dye spray cans can you change colors or would I need to use paint?

I would like to be able to use dye as from what I’ve read it comes out nicer and is easier to use.

I have done other cars usually using SEM products and they come out great " in my opinion" .. I am doing my Blue 83 hard parts as we speak and so far so good...
Clean em up really well with hot water using Dawn soap, then use a Wax and grease remover product ( acetone and lacquer thinner are too hot), then a plastic prep product before painting...
Getting the old Armor All out can be a problem.....
If I get some bubbling or fish eyes, I let it dry, then it usually will take a second coat...

and when you're done with that prep a little more:

If there's any oil or contaminates left behind, the dye won't take.

I used the SEM stuff on a new lower knee panel which ships white. The SEM stuff covered it excellent and matched the interior perfectly. My interior is red so I was worried about a good match. It's looks absolutely perfect.

I used the adhesion promoter spray they also sell. I'd recommend using that. The directions mention to use it on plastic.

Not sure if all retailers offer it this way but NPD lists it with paint codes for our cars.

And like the guys said, prep, prep, prep. Good luck with it.

I am old enough to remember when armor all came out.... It was the schnizzle for putting some shine back into faded dirty door panels and dashes.... Not so much anymore.....
Some of the high end wax/polish suppliers have some interior cleaners that not only clean but leave a really nice clean looking appearance... I need to look, but I believe I use Adams........
