I wonder what the chart would look like if the Vortech car had a custom ground blower cam rather than stock? Needless to say, the side by side comparison makes it easy for one to see where each power adder shines.
S/CBlack95GT said:That's a pretty cool comparison. Im glad to see my car up there too..hehe. A cam sure would wake my combo up.
But just FYI. The HP curve shown up there for mine isnt quite right. In real life the HP peaked at 415rwhp around 5400rpms and stayed there until we shut it down at 6000rpms. The graph up there shows it dropping off real fast after 5500rpms. Still a great comparison though![]()
Here is my real chart:

What kind of dyno?
Are these values SAE?

When I look at these various combos I don't have numerical values about 95% of the time. I split the rpm range in increments of 250 when I build the chart. This means I have to arrive at 32 different values to build the curves. I did have to slide your peak hp over to 5500 due to the split I used.
If I used the value of 100 the curve shape might be a little closer. That would be too much work and using the 250 rpm split gets things close enough for me to see the jest of how things are. The chart you provided is the same one I used btw.
Your hp drop off at the end looks the way it does due to I only use one scale to measure hp & tq which keeps things simple. Your chart hp values are split in 50 where mine are in only 25. That is why your hp curve does not show as great a drop at the end.
I was in no way trying to misrepresent your combo and if you have numerical values of the pull, pm them to me and I will load them in the file and post them up in this thread.
I'm usually not off by more that 2 or 3 at the most.
I was really impressed with your combo![]()

Very cool info though!
Shaun, how many lbs of boost do you see?
A tune silly....Grady said:A question to all members here ................
Say Shaun had a cam
What kind of change does everybody think it would make

S/CBlack95GT said:It was around 9.5 at peak power and 11.25 at 6000rpms.

Killercanary said:Thanks Shaun! What pulley are you running?
Grady, what do you think the KB setup would have done with 9-11lbs? Matt was only seeing 6lbs with the setup you illustrated above. I also wonder what his true peak is/was since the dyno graph was still climbing when they shut it down. The torque had started to drop but it wasn't falling like a rock. I used to know an equation to determine peak power from peak TQ at a given RPM, but I can't remember it anymore.![]()
