I finally relocated my IAT sensor and got her custom dyno tuned..The canned Vortech tune netted 380 rwhp..After the tune we got 427..w/ an auto and on a Mustang Dyno..Hopefully after a power cooler ill see 460 or so..Now its time for traction!!! Nitto's please?

throw some 3:55's back in the car and let it sit you in the seat!!!

good numbers, i recommend the mickey thompson drag radials! i know a guy thats pulling 1.57's on a STOCK suspension c5 vette on 17" mickey thompson d/r's... i know vettes are a whole different playing field, but damn 1.57 60' is impressive for a street tire!!!

i'm assuming the car is non intercooled correct?

I would also consider the 325/45/17 M&H drag radial. Thats what I use and I just pulled a new best 60' at Irwindale thursday night, a 1.473. I street drive with them all the time, just wouldn't recommend them in the rain.

That is a crazy 60'!!Congrats, looks like it took some hard work to get there.. What do you recommend for a stock 18" wheel?? Im not dropping 2 g's on rims and tires, there is still more power to be had..Im hoping to creep in to the high 11's at lebanon valley(New York) this spring..Which was my goal from the start, well mid 11's, daily driver, and handling good enough to take it to Lime Rock once in a while for an open track day..Oh and 1 more goal, take out a non C6 vette when the opportunity arises!!

How about just getting two 17X9 wheels and mounting the M&H's on those for the track? I think you would have to do something like that anyway because the drag radials certainly are not for handling. And the M&H 325 will fit on a 9 wide rim because the M&H runs narrow--its more like a 295 at best. But they do work and will be more then enough at the track.

I don't know of any 18inch drag radials that actually work. There are the nittos, but at the track they don't do so well compared to the M/T's and M&H's.

For the street and handling---I am the wrong person to talk to. I have a one track mind, go fast in a straight line.

Talk to some autocross / road racing guys for that. Hopefully someone will chime in.

I've had good luck with the BFG KDW2's on the street. They've worked well for me with dry and wet pavement. They suck at the track, though. The one time I jumped in the '05, I smoked them half way down the track.

ya i was looking at the KDW's too..ive made up my mind to just get a set of DR's for the track when i go on 17's, it just makes sense to rule out traction as a problem at the track, and get accurate times. But, want a good all round tire for everyday use..

Wait you got a 1.4x 60' with a radial? I thought you were using the M&H cheater slicks.

No, the tire I use is the Racemaster drag radial. It drives good on the street to, as long as you have like 28-30 psi in them. But they do suck in the rain. In my opinion they are the best dot legal drag radial made. I lift the front wheels with them all the time.

I didn't realize you were using the radial, I thought you were using the bias ply. Wow. I think you just sold me on them. Can't say I've seen 60 fts that low with et street drag radials. They're a bit more expensive, but if they work, they're worth it.

Edit: Just read more information in the vendor section of another board. I'm most definitely sold. I'll be ordering this week. Now I just have to make it until spring to actually use the things!

I'm buying the wheels from American Muscle and the tires directly through M&H.
