Dyno tomorrow, what A/F should I shoot for and more.....

......Like in the title tomorrow morning im waking up early, skipping school and going to get my car tuned. Last time I went, it took them a while to get everything working properly and they kept leaving to go print out sheets and stuff so I didnt really know exactly what was going on. Kinda scared me at first cause they couldnt get my a/f anywhere close to good and then all of a sudden they got it good like 10 minutes before they closed after like 40 min of not close at all. The print out they gave me says I have a a/f at like 12.7 and then it goes to 11.9 and then it dips down a little and back up. From what I can tell on this graph, its all at 2360 rpms. I didnt understand why my a/f was so crazy at the same rpm's. Also, when they started messing with fuel pressure, they would only rev the car up to like 4700 rpms and then stop. They said they were only doing this for tuning and it didnt have to be revd that high, but im shifted at almost 6k and I want a good a/f up there too no? Maybe they just didnt get that far. What im trying to say is, what should I look for on the graphs and stuff to make im getting my best bang for the buck?

Get the to give you exact number read outs for every 100rpm in either print outs, or save it on a disk. This is the BEST way to tune, tuning for PEAK is NOT the right thing to do. And if it was my car, I sure as hell would make them run it to 6000rpms, who knows you could be running out of fuel, or going WAY rich in the upper rev's. Good luck!

13.0 - 13.5 a/f ratio is the optimum mixture. As long as it's around there, then it's perfect. And devience from that is causing a loss of power.

Ditto on taking the car to 6000 rpm's. Make sure your car is getting enough fuel across the board.

With my Walboro 255lph and my FPR my A/F Ratio has always been like a straight line from 3,500 and on. My car seemed to make the best power at around 13.3:1 or so. Havent got it tuned with the H/C/I but my base dyno seemed pretty good.

BlueOvalStangGT is boosted, so I would recommend 11.0:1-11.5: or so. 13.0:1 -13.5:1 is pushing it. I hit 13.5:1 with only 6lbs of boost, cause my inline pump was disconnected(doh), and thankfully the guy running the dyno cut out at ~5650 rpm.

I suck at life. I blew another gasket, clutch is slipping big time, front tires are shot, tranny is makeing god awful noises now in 4th and 5th and I got a speeding ticket last weeknd. Looks like im going to put in more hours at work to get this thing finally running right. Thanks for the help anyways guys
