My buddy has a 95 mustang with a brand new stock crate motor in it. It has shorty headers and flowmasters with no cats and a cold air intake.

There is a shop that wants to charge him 400 to put a chip in it and dyno tune (unsure of the brand at the moment)

Is it worth that and will he get any decent gains out of it? If so what can he expect to get out of it. its a Automatic

Thanks

Mods here are nothing the original pcm values can't deal with :)

I'd have nothing to offer here as I self tune so I know nothing about
what others charge for their tuning efforts

Yes he could get some noticable gains :D

so what can he expect to get out of it. its a Automatic

Thanks

Notice the word ... could ... I stress that word because ..........
it depends upon what all is done

If the spark is increased by .......
quickness or amount of time and total amount

then you will for sure feel a difference

now

Lets be more specific with the word ... GAINS ;)

Spark change like we talked about above
Spark change with tip-in retard killed
Auto trans changes will firm up the shifts
etc

Those are changes that will make a noticeable ... GAIN :nice:

however

If you are looking for noticable ... POWER gains

IMHO ... I'd say you will not get much here :(

The mods done so far are not enough for the values in the pcm to be
that far off from being pretty close to being optimized

I'd put that money in a set of steep gears :spot:

You will feel that change ... BIG TIME :Word:
