Well i dynoed today after finishing my head swap......couldn't get the car above a 14.5:1 a/f ratio for some reason........so it was lean as all get out...... :nonono:

Well the car made peaks of 245 hp, and 292 lb ft of torque, with it running very lean....Mod list is as follows

T-moss factory lower intake
E7 heads P&P with 1.94 1.6 Ferrea stainless valves
factory throttle body
factory mass air
1.7 rr
B-cam
asp underdrives
hedman headers
Upr o/r x pipe
Mac pro dumps set up
Mac CAI
14* timing

What do you guys think........should my a/f be that lean with the things i have listed, i thought the 19 lb's were good to about 300 hp.....guess not....

Anyhow the tuner said, that if i add some injectors a mass air to match to get my a/f ratio back up i was looking at around 15-20 hp....and around the same torque.....dunno.....Looks promising so far.....

ps......gonna post the graph in a minute........

well here it is...you peeps analyze and give advice...........

Waiting. :)

In the meantime, I put down 232 with the 19# and it was actually comfortably rich. That was with a completely stock long block (to include the induction).

edit:
Damn, you beat me to it...

edit #2:
Holy crap, that A/F is crap. And I can't believe the dyno operator continued to run it.

i will redyno it soon........after we figure out why my A/F is so out of whack.....i really wish some of you guys would help with some opinions.......

When i hit the dyno i thought it was gonna be rich........dunno though.....

Are there any problems that could cause such a lean condition....

TMoss......when you look at this look at the torque that thing is putting down.......The car went WOT at 2500 and had torque above 250 from there on.......

Damn Jason, you want some fries with that wahhburger? J/K man. Honestly, with the induction electronics being stock, I'm at a loss. I haven't seen issues like this (and by "this" I mean friggin wacked out a/f ratios) until MAF/TB/Injector swaps are done and they're breaking 300-350 hp.

I have some thoughts though. When was the last time you cleaned the MAF? If the element is dirty, it could be sending false signals to the computer. If you're running a K&N (like most of us seem to be), the filter oil can easily contaminate the MAF element. That's where I'd begin.

WHy do you want it ABOVE that...that is way to high as it is
RC

I think it's a relativity issue. I'm assuming that (like many people), he associates better with more. Therefore, even though he says he can't get "above" x, he's meaning he can't get "better" than x.

That was my free philosophy lesson for the day. You'd better print it off.

Yeah, nice curves. I'm lookin forward to your next dyno. 255RWHP/311RWTQ is as high as I've seen on a 94-95 car with ported stock heads and one of my ported stock lowers (Rio5.0's car). You might have a decent chance at topping that.

Well RC, i meant to say lower it was late and i hadn't been home from my 2 hour drive very long.........i believe that you knew what i meant......

Maf sensor is clean i believe( i will check it today) , has clean tb, clean air filter, new fuel filter, new plugs, new wires, dist. cap, rotor button etc.....

Tom....i like the numbers even though the A/F was messed up....They told me i better gget my a/f right with the way it is now before i swap over to the cobra intake....so it will be after the first of the year before i send it to you..

I already have my eye on a set of 24lb injectors locally, possible a TB.......so i guess i would need a new maf sensor.....What is recommended, i have had a 75 didn't have any problems with it, but i have heard bad stuff about them.

Those are some decent numbers.... :nice:
My first quess would be the factory MAF???.....I had the Pro77 from the get go and my runs have always been nice and linear...I had a 65 TB too and I still run 19s and the stock puter???
Plugs screaming White??? :bang:

haven't pulled the plugs yet today........but i would imagine that they are........fact is that they tried a bunch of FP from the start, and i had plenty of fuel pressure....all the way upto 60 lbs...vacuum off. Nothing helped.

you have any suggestions andy.....

i will report back my findings with the maf and the plugs etc. later, meanwhile someone figure this out for me......LOL

jason

My thought is, the things woofing some serious air from stock, with stock parts, and the puter is freaking out trying to catch up....
Know anyone local who has a MAF you can swap??? My car's stored, maybe I should ship my 77 down for you to try.... :D

Thing that sucks is you have to re-dyno to really see if the fix works...I see the only dif from me, and we have like parts, is your MAF/TB being stock...

Bad FPR maybe???

Here's this years graph with the 93 set-up..2003 graph with that lower was the same...Nice and linear start to finish...

well it was 60 degrees almost all day yest....and sunny. Don't worry about the 77, it won't hook up to my cai anyhow.....The tuner told me when i came back if i had a maf out of a newer GT he could cal it in the computer to adjust for the 24's and make it work my year model of car.....he said ford has better meters than pro-ma c&l etc.. but they have to be made to work with a chip.....which i am getting next time i go back anyhow..... :D

jason

I have an aeromotive adjustable FPR......every time we moved the pressure up or down, it would go way up on pressure and stay there........something in the computer or something just wasn't demanding the fuel.........

If you swap in 24 pounders then you will need a MAF calibrated for those injectors. I think the general concensus around here is the Pro M 80mm meters. I've heard of more problems with the C&L meters. Some say the Lightning meters work well too. You might want to consider replacing/upgrading your stock fuel pump as well. They're only around 100 clams and can be changed in a few hours.

my friend ran into this with his 93 it was way lean and it was the 02 sensors the wires got messed up "burned from long tubes" he rewired it and it started to get some color back on the plugs.

This might be a reason. The 94-95 EECs are different in that they use the last KAM factor written when the EEC goes to WOT strategy. So, if the KAM correction factor was fubar, the whole curve would be affected.
