e-brake/parking brake not "clicking"

just as the title says, when i pull the brake up i wont hear a click till the damn lever is pretty high. is it the cable(s), or shoes/pads?

thanks.

Probably either the cable or the e-brake assembly itself. Mine was stretched from hauling on a frozen cable for months, had to bolt in a new handle.

Maybe the cable self adjuster? It's confusing to how it wokrs, I haven't put thought into the function of it, i have mine off the car now, and the part the cable goes on is self adjusting

is it difficult to put in a new cable? how much would a shop charge to fix this? thanks.

you need a new cable. If there is not tension, the self adjusting mechanism does not work or as you hear it "click"

DUDE, call around local man! Unless you live in the same town, repair cost will differ.

cool ill just order the cable and try and a DIY job. thanks.

I had the same problem. It was a frozen cable. Shop fixed it for me back then but dk the price.
