Ok, my battle against the emergency brake continues.
I have an MGW short throw shifter installed, and thought that maybe I didn't put Dynamat in the right places to stop a rattle that some people have after installing the shifter...but I am convinced this is no longer the problem. After sitting in my uncle's Mustang, I determined that it was most definitely the e-brake itself. When released, his e-brake is very firm, while it only takes a few clicks to set the brake. Mine on the other hand is very loose when it is released, which is where my rattle is coming from, and I have to pull it nearly all the way up to set the brake.
At first, I thought it might be the brake pads...so I changed all four today, got some Hawk ceramics. The back pads were worn a good bit, and I thought I might've fixed my problem. Nope, still there.
So, I guess it's just my e-brake needs to be adjusted. Can anyone guide me through some steps to get this problem fixed? I have a 2005 Mustang GT coupe.
