OK, I hope someone can answer this question. First I just want to let you know that even though I'm sittin here in Iraq (U.S. Army), I'm planning more mods for my stang cuz I love it...used to be a camaro guy!! Anyhow, one day when browsing ebay, I saw an Eaton M90 for sale with a desription saying can be used for 5.0. So, I started looking into it. It is true, they can be used on 3.8 thru 5.7 liter engines. Heres the kicker....how in the heck do you install the throttle body and tube to it? I can't find anything on a plenum kit for it to adapt to the 5.0. The only thing I can find is the 3.8 plenum setup. Any ideas? Please help!!!!

Hey,

I hate to burst your bubble but it isn't worth putting an M90 on a 302. I was going to do this at one point too but it's just not cost effective. NO one makes an intake for 5.0 to the M90. I went to Bennit Racing to see how much they would charge for a custom intake. They told me $2500-$3000. I also found out that the snout would also have to be longer. That would cost another $600. Then the initial cost of the SC +/- $100. THen you have no IC or lines. There is another alternative tho. You could mount it on one of the valve covers. Custom valve covers $300+ (not exact on the quote). Custom pullies $???. Then you have to have all the lines and IC etc etc etc. It would also make changing plugs a PITA. Also even if you get past all the financial burdens it would not prove to be a worthy upgrade. Altho they'll make power on anything up to 350CID it would be minimal. Think about it most of the M90's were found on the 3.8L V6 SUper Coupe and 3.8 GTP. Both about 80 CID smaller than a 302. It has been done before tho. I've seen it at a car show. But by the time you get it running IF it runs you would have a procharger ATI setup under your belt. That's why I gave up.

I'm not trying to discourage you but these are the cold hard facts. If you get it done more power to you. I just want you to know that it won't be easy.

Good Luck on whatever you decide

MIke

yeah i wanted to do the same thing when i pulled the 3.8 out of my super coupe, but then realized it wont work. I even had all the IC tubes, everything to get a t/b on it, just no intake manifold for it and it realy wont make that much power anyways. It's build for a 3.8. I think eaton just likes saying up to 350 even if it only made 2psi.

A guy from allfordmustangs.com did a twin M90 on a windsor. Put him deep in the 12's if I remember correctly.

The dual M90 setup I saw was on a mustang. I'll have to dig through my pics and see if I still have the pictures. My HD crashed tho so I don't know if it's on here.

Thats what I was afraid of !!!!

Well, thanks for the quick replies guys!! I was afraid of that but hey, life goes on. Guess I'll just stick with adding the B303, gt40 or Cobra intake and of course upgrade fuel and air add-ons. WAIT!!!! I have an idea.....I could put the M90 on my wifes 3.8 Ford Windstar minivan!!! NOT!!! Well, thanks again and I'll be back soon. By the way nice supercoupe mods!! One day I'll know what a 10 sec car feels like. See ya
