Efi to car pcv HELP !

I purchased an 89 town car efi engine as a cheap replacement for a 73 carbureted engine that plugged the sump and ate its rod bearings . Im swapping from efi to carb intake but the pcv passage at the back of the valley is exposed when the carb intake is installed. Im sure if it were left open it would pose a vaccum leak or an oil spraying mess . Any ideas ? Thanks for your help !

Yeah, stuff a PCV screen, grommet, and valve in it and run it to the passenger side valve cover.

I'm confused, am I missing the vacuum source?
Can't picture the exposed PCV passage either

The lower intake would be the source. Just like in an EFI system.

Just me but I thought the PVC was in the valve cover and connected to the base of the carb. Have never seen a provision for a PVC in a carb intake but I guess there could be one.

Are you saying, at the back of the intake that you have, is open so that the stock provision of the PVC valve on those engines is exposed? You’re going to have to get a different intake that has a provision that covers that spot or you’re going to have to create a PVC system that uses that intake, provision and route that intake occurs to a nipple on your new manifold. As @AeroCoupe suggest suggested, post some pictures of your set up so that we have a better idea with the issue is good luck.

The correct carb intake should cover the whole lifter valley. China wall to China wall. There will be no pcv provision at the rear of a carb intake. The pcv goes in the valve cover.

I thought he had a carb adaptor for an EFI lower.

So, is this a 302 we're talking about?

If so, what 302 has a PCV port in the block? I'm still not certain what we're talking about.

Yes, I was with @Noobz347 in understanding the problem. I think the issue is, he’s trying to use the stock valve covers that came on this engine. It’s not provisioned for a PVC valve. He needs an older model set for a SBF that has the provision in the rear of the passenger side cover.

The only thing I can think is this hole that is supposed to have a freeze plug in it but for it to be exposed you literally cannot have the correct intake on it.

That's an oil galley in your pic. It should have a plug.

He had this, but his new manifold has nothing like that. AND, he likely has the original valve covers, which have no provision for a PVC valve. I think it’s all unnecessary because I believe @rgrendell has left the theater.

OP needs to post a photo
The hole should be plugged at the top with a small freeze plug
I believe some of those plugs are not completely covered by the intake manifold when installed
My 69 has a Roush manifold on it, and I think mine is not covered completely
