Hello all.

I'm building a 5.0 to go into my '65 mustang and I'm looking for recomendations on the engine management system.

So far I have a stock bottom end short block with new rings, cam, rod, and main bearings.

Twisted Wedge 170 heads
TFS stage 1 cam
'93 cobra upper intake and a FMS off road lower intake (which tmoss should have received today).

I am also planning on running a vortech super charger, but haven't bought one yet.

Since this will be going into a '65, I don't have a fuel injection system already, so I pretty much have a blank slate to work with.

I've been considering running the stock EEC IV mass flow system, and then getting a tuner like tweecer. Another option I have been considering is going straight to Megasquirt II, which would allow me to not have to buy a MAF sensor.

Which would you choose? Or is there another system I should be looking at?

Several people from my car club use the FAST system. It seems very robust everyone likes it. An when I get to this point I will probably go this route as well. I included a link below.

I don't have anything against the fast system, as I've also heard that it is very nice, however it's a bit (way) more expensive. Their ecu is $1700, not including any of the other junk you need, and it looks as if they require you to run their distributor.

For me, the cost difference between the megasquirt and the A9L/Tweecer is negligible since I wouldn't need to purchase tweecer (300 for the base one) and a MAF (2-300?). A ready to plug in MS, is about $600, using the factory 5.0 harness and sensors.

I guess what I'm looking for is someone who's had experience with both and can tell me which one they prefer.
