Engine build specs

I'm ready to spend about 6k or so on motor and trans for my 68 Fastback. It's got a tired old 302 and a TMX from a truck in it now.

I want to keep it 302 block and add a T5. Hopefully I can afford 400hp, if not 300-350 is ok. It will be a weekend street machine.

From what I can tell, a roller cam 302 and a rebuild with AFR heads and moderate internals should do it.

Can anyone help me spec this thing? I've already got a 2.5" exhaust system for it, AirGap intake, Hedman shortys.

What should I be looking at for pistons, cam and heads?

I`m in the process of doing the same thing to my 302.

Eagle rotating assembly 331 cubic inch for about $1100
AFR 165`s are about $1350

I'd go with the AFR165 heads if you can afford them. I have a similar build coming up, except it's a 289 instead of a 302.
