Engine compartment painting

I've used both, but since it's such a pain to do over, I use regular basecoat/clearcoat these days. It's no picnic, but after you remove every single part, it's not that bad and it really looks great for much, much longer.

i have bad experiences with duplicolor had some cans of semi-gloss black for panting some parts and i shook the can for ever but every time i used the can it wolud have spots of semi-gloss and then spots of flat balck all threw my work i had to steel wool it and repaint with another brand... i prefer rustolem?? sry about spelling... never had a problem with them did my engine bay with it and came out great lots of hard work though lots of sanding and cleaning but well worth it. cuz a great brand new rebuilt engine looks like **** with a dirty engine bay

sounds like a coverage problem, ive had that happen too,but it was just how the paint "laid down"
