You'd be better off using a paint gun. It'll hold up better with hardeners added.

I just didn't want a high glossy finish and with the clearcoat added, it'll shine up alot

I've used both, but since it's such a pain to do over, I use regular basecoat/clearcoat these days. It's no picnic, but after you remove every single part, it's not that bad and it really looks great for much, much longer.

WOW! Nice! Just concerned about the SUPER Glossy look that way, White is not as noticeable but black would be WAY noticable.

you could get away with using a flattening agent if you want to use a gun,but for can,the Dupli color stuff works decently and makes for easy touch up's too. They even have House Of Kolor in sprays now.

sounds like a coverage problem, ive had that happen too,but it was just how the paint "laid down"

It sounds like you want the original finish. A chassis black acrylic enamel may suite you. That's what I'm going to do to mine. It will be cheaper than a bc/cc too.

I am not too concerned about the surface being prepared. It will be sandblasted for raw metal. Decisions, decisions.....
