Being new to the 4.6 crowd, I thought my 01 Cobra block was good to go with a power adder. In that event I order up a Procharger D1sc with 3 core intercooler and 12lb pulley. On my near stock cobra, they (THR and Procharger) I'll hover around the 500whp mark with a good tune. Well, the guys at ProDyno in NC tuned my car a few weeks ago to get a good baseline, and I ended up with 306whp and 305lb-ft. I ended up getting the SCT chip as well.
So now I'm being told that my motor is only good to 450whp for daily flogging. I don't want to put the S/C on and have the motor blow and have to rip it all out, and start over, so I was thinking of having the block done now. The only problem is I don't know what to do. From poking around various forums, seems that the weak link is the oil pump and rods.
Can anyone throw their wisdom or advice at me on this?
I'm just trying to get as much knowledge about options and recommendations so I can make my mind up.

I have since addeda magnaflow cat-back, and ordered some kooks headers and mid-pipe as well.
