For some reason all of a sudden my engine is pinging. I put it 89 & 93 octane, and it still pings. (But 93 octane does less pinging I notice.) This pinging happens if I floor it only though. If I'm like just crusing and at idle its fine. Also the time is at 10 degrees. Which is stock. Anyone know what could be causing this? I know it's bad for the engine and I dont want to ruin it. Another addition to the list...but thats what you get of owning a V8, always gotta work on it. :D

id have to say where ever ur getting gas from has to be bad. ive noticed a big difference between gas statoins, between chevron, texico, ect.... chevron 89, my car runs the best on. i did am pm 92 once and my car didnt run right at all, that was a mistake...lol

i agree, texaco (shell), mobile (exxon) and sunoco are probably best, any other station like wawa gas or gulf gas are hidious. I actually saw a special on tv about how cheaper gas is actually crappier quality than name brand. They use additives to "cut" the fuel so they get more out of it. When i first bought my car off my economics teacher he said dont ever put gulf gas in unless u are stranded. He said is son told him and he didnt believe, so one day he just said what the hell and put gulf gas in and it really ran like ass. You could try some octane booster with some good 93 or sunoco 94 (just my opinion, sunoco 94 is a waste of money for 1 extra octane point)

Pull the plugs & look to see if any of the insulators are chalk white. If so, you may have a vacuum leak or a plug that isn't seating fully.

if not mentioned, i would pull codes, paying attention to lean condition codes (lambdas, etc).
i might try and check FP in a range of temps to see if your pump is on the way out and loosing pressure at higher revs.

good luck.
