Alright guys, little background on my car. It's a 99 mustang GT, 5 speed, 53,000 miles. It has the following mods, steeda pullies, bassani x pipe, flows, 4.10 gears, and air intake. The cars probably had a pretty exciting life, but Ive run into a big problem. Couple weeks ago I made a thread about whenever I start the car and engage the clutch to start it, I get a ticking sound until I release the clutch. Well, today I went to a friend house and now it ticks whenever I'm driving, the worst is around 2k rpms but it ticks all the way through the rpms sometimes, and sometimes it ticks at idle, sometimes it doesn't. I took it to a friends house and showed his dad, and he said he thought it was the lifters. Well, we checked my oil and it showed to be on min. So I took it to a mechanic friend and let him listen, and he too said he thought it was the lifters, and that I should put more oil in it and the sound may go away. Well, first off, I'm confused here because cars aren't suppose to "lose" oil, right? He acted like its normal to lose a quart or whatever, which I didn't understand because if everycar was on min by 3,000 miles people would be blowing up engines left and right soon. BTW, I run Mobil 1 synthetic 5w30. So neways, I went to autozone and got two quarts of mobil 1 and put one and half in it and then checked it and now its showing like a quarter before max on the stick, so my buddy told me to let it sit overnight and check it again. Well, I drove about 15 miles home and even with more oil in it, the car is still ticking, and its pretty damn loud. What do you guys think? I really really appreciate any help. 
... on checking for an exhaust leak. A mechanics stethescope (sp?) would help out alot too.
