Engine shaking

long story - short - 94 gt stock

Engine shake came on quick.
Done so far....
*Changed fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, pvc valve
*clean MAF
*clean K&N air filter
*looked and did not find any vacumn line leaks
*Hook up two cans injector cleaner to fuel rails and ran it thru - improved 80%
*ran two cans injector thru two tanks of gas - no improvement.
*pulled injectors, soaked them in cleaner, replaced one that was not allowing fuel through. Car ran the best it has ever run with no engine shake and lots of new found pickup for 30 miles. then shake came back slowly until it is now shaking so bad I am afraid to drive it.

what next - clean fuel tank, blow out fuel lines, reclean injectors?

Any ideas or suggestions welcome.

what kind of shake is it, rpm specific, at idle, all rpms, with the clutch in or out... whatsup?

I bet your harmonic ballancer is shot.

Fixed it

The whole engine and trans would shake like hell - all rpms - for a day to two and then stop. heres why -

It was the harmonic balancer. The hard rubber weight inside the metal cover was loose and spinning. Sometimes when I shut the car offf and then back on the rubber part would stop at the right spot, be in balance, and the car would not shake anymore. Drove me me nuts trying to find this one. Thanks for your help!

The guy who did it for me (brother-in-laws friend) who is a mechanic put a stock balancer back on there from Ford. The car has 170,000 on it now and runs great being 99% stock. I want to keep it that way until the engine goes and then I will build a bigger engine from the block up. Just trying to keep the car in good shape so I can have a fun winter tear down and rebuild someday. With all the tuneup and tweaking done trying to fix this problem the car jumps when I touch the pedal now. It never used to do that.
