Build Thread Enola- Finishing touches

I managed to get the shifter installed yesterday, I am not 100% happy with the boot but it can be modified I would think. To get the shifter installed just like I wanted took a bit of time, i had to stop and tune a car while this was happening so it interrupted my flow a bit.

I started by cutting the factory shifter plate, I used a frozen up stock shifter to do this with. After the modifications were complete I went to mounting the new Lokar shifter in place.

In the picture above you can see the test fit, I had to do some more adjustments including moving the shifter down about 3/8" it would have hit the trim ring. I only have about 1/4 gap between the shifter and the transmission, that's enough for me.

The final product is not final just yet, I still have to wire in many things. But it is progress. I have to finish a tune today, so likelyhood of this getting done is low.

Yeah,......you’re gonna have to fix that. That looks like some sort of deflated ball, with a shifter handle sticking out of it. Way too much money spent to have the end result looking like that.
I’d ditch the boot, and make a slotted plate. (Think old Ferrari gate plate) and attach it to the bottom side of that bezel.at the very least, cut the excess off of the base of that boot, so it don't look like you just jammed it all in there.

*For inspiration....

you mention rear mount turbos - I saw recently that Comp Turbo now has oil and water-less turbos. Basically, just a grease zerk that you grease every now and again. I think that's cooler than a rooster with socks on, but I'd also like to make sure this tech is tested for longevity too!
I love this idea, now i just have to figure out how much they cost.

Lost a fuse doing checkout of the system today, bad stepper motor out of the box. The fuse in question is a little fuse.... special part had to order... so no startup today, I was able to go through and verify all the inputs and the outputs. I have one bad coil pack, the rest works nice. Could not check the cam and crank inputs, they were powered off the lost fuse.

Hmm... today i filled the block with water and calibrated the WB sensors so i could get feedback. Things went well at first car started and settled into idle, then the engine started to shake.... I think i have a missfire or a dead cylinder on #2, that one header tube is cooler than the rest when i touch it. I also have an odd whirring noise i noticed when i shut the engine off, now i have not had an auto in the car for a long time and dont remember what a transmission with low fluid sounds like.
The alternator bracket is not going to work out, trying to use the stock one and the placement of the TB is making things difficult, the belt wants to be in the way. I am going to delete the bracket and make one with a manual tensioner and call it done.

I wont lie the shaking and noises worry me a bit... I was occupied with keeping it running and did not see what the oil pressure was, I am likely over thinking things and the JY LS coils are no good but i cant help it...
