After a brisk drive I can say things are looking up!
Quite operation when cruising and idle low whine while pulling hard.

Saw 2# of boost today. Mostly in gears 3-4
I think I'm ready to spin her harder.

Does anyone know if I can use a pulley from a Sallen 4.6 on this unit? Those pulleys go as low as 1.6 ratio. The lowest I can get for a super coupe is a 2.5.... and it requires grinding the snout down.

Sounds to me like your bypass valve was either sticking or not opening previously. That would explain both the noise (feeding back through the blower) and sucking the inlet tubes flat. Looks like you've got it all sorted out now.

I used to have a a 2.5" pully will require a little machining down of the snout....but you could probably just knock it down with a die grinder. Doesn't have to be pretty (especially since the pulley will cover the carnage), just functional.

I actually custom made a 2.35" pulley for mine....sucker really screamed. lol

Try these guys for your needs. It says they go as low as 1.9", but I'm pretty sure 2.5" is the smallest you're able to go. Allen Engine Development High Performance Supercharger Pulleys

Here's the issue....if you get too small with the blower pulley, your belt is going to slip. In which case you've got a couple of alternatives. You can either A) go with a larger crankshaft pulley to increase blower speed, instead of the bower pulley, or B) you can get a wider pulley for added belt traction. FWIW, "A" would be your cheaper bet.

I tried to find a larger crank pulley but no one makes one. I looked at trying to get a 460 serp. Pulley but they are hard to come by and all my options require mod ding the new pulley to fit.
If you have a source for one I'd love it.

I believe ASP sells an overdrive crank pulley, but I don't have a part number. I've also heard the Lincoln Mark VII had a slightly larger diameter crankshaft pulley as well, but I can't confirm that one.

The vortech add-on pully is larger in diameter but I guess that won't help because you would have to redo your whole setup adjusting it outward. Plus it's an 8 rib.

My pully.

Also, they only way to check your water pump for correct drive rotation is to remove it and look. You might be able to hook up a water pressure guage in the heater hose/water pump line and test the pressure.

Something else about this. You might check your belt routing, its possible you have the correct pump but the belt routing flipped backwards on the pully. From what I could see in your pics it looks correct but you might double check that.

scratch that last post, water pump will rotate counterclockwise no matter how you have the belt routed because crank will always pull it opposite direction.... As long as its "cris crossed" around the pully that is

Yeah I think I figured it out, my coolant % was too high! I was running 80% or more coolant. Here in Florida I only need 10-20% coolant. I guess it does not transfer heat as well as water.

Also found that an f150 5.0 runs a 6 5/8 crank pulley. Might try and source one but it still won't get the charger spinning high enough. Threw my first belt yesterday, so I'm working on getting the pulleys realigned

Woah. Better check that research. Water boils faster than when mixed 50/50, which means at hotter temps your regular water will NOT transfer heat as well as if you had 50/50 mix. I think....

Oh, I was wrong... This is a good read: Glycol Or Water - Which Is The Better Coolant? - Hot Rod Magazine

So what pressure rating is your radiator able to handle?

When I move to Texas I may look into raising my pressure cap to 20psi and minimizing my coolant mix...

So I found a very good calculation for drive ratio for the supercharger
((25.58*90*(drive ratio)/cid-14.7))
My math says that with a 2.2" pulley I should see 5.6 psi.
Then if later I need more (and water meth)
Then I can add a 6.5" crank pulley off a 5.0 f150. That will bring my ratio too 2.95.... making 7.5 psi.
Or I can go big and do a 1.9" and the crank and get 11 psi lol I don't think that's doable with an fmu. 108# of fuel pressure

I am ordering the 2.2 unless there are objections........
My current ratio 2.9 comes out to 1.1 psi.... pretty accurate math there!

Didn't you say you saw 2#s of boost with current setup? Sounds pretty accurate measurements but actual was more yes? So does that mean your porting made those improvements? Super cool.

I'd say your on your way to a good if then statement and the answer will soon follow!
