ET Streets on 17" wheels

I noticed MT makes an ET Street in a 17" now. It says the minimum wheel width they will fit is 8.5, but would it cause any harm to run them on my stock 17x8's? Better yet, does anyone make a 17x9 or 10 Bulliit in the light silver color to match my front wheels?

Everything that I have read says the MT's are made really wide and the min rim width is just that unlike the Nitto's that run narrow and allow you to squeeze wider tires on a more narrow rim. Just my .02$ I have 275 nitto 555R's on my stock rims.

Guess I'll have to get wider wheels then. I had Nittos on my old car and couldn't make them hook to save my life so I'm going straight to ET Streets this time around.

For the track, they're fine. There's plenty of people running the ET Streets 3743 and 3743R (I believe those are the correct numbers) on the stock 17x8's. I just wouldn't do any extended driving on them, especially spirited corning. That said, I've seen people get better results from the M&H Racemasters. The 275/50/17 fits perfectly on the 17x8 wheel.

Yeah, this would be for the track only. Are the M&H tires drag radials? I've never had any luck hooking a DR with a standard transmission. If not, I may look into them. Whatever I go with, I'm buying a spare set of wheels to put them on.

Yes, they're a drag radial. I've seen people who run 11's and 12's cut 1.4x 60's with them. They simply hook. You had Nitto DR's before, which quite honestly suck at the track. Nittos and BFG's are fine for the street, but M/T's and M&H's are what you want for the track.

I have been running ET Streets on the stock rims for two years. The bias-ply is a wrinkle wall slick with two treads so they are very good for the track.

yeah man i have an pair of 94-96 cobra rims that im planning to run ET Streets w/ 275/XX 17s
