When i was daily driving the Fox, i worked 2 miles from my house. I was lucky if i did 10K miles a year. I did more like 8K. My Fox only has 99K on it.

When i was daily driving the Fox, i worked 2 miles from my house. I was lucky if i did 10K miles a year. I did more like 8K. My Fox only has 99K on it.
I ran over a meteorite on the highway last summer, and i think that put a hairline fracture in my front left spring, which, over time, finally led to it snapping in half. For 5 weeks i drove my brother lincoln mark viii (a 96-98 cobra with air ride, an automatic, a peg leg IRS, and nice interior). Much more DD material than my 5.0, on paper. Now that im back in it, i couldnt be happier. Driving the mark drove me absolutely mad. I forsee driving the crap out of this car for a very long time. air conditioning can be fixed alot easier than trying to solve accelerating a 4000 pound lazyboy chair off the line in the rain with one tire, no low end torque whatsoever, and ridiculously tall gearing. I will fix my AC and be happy not to hear that damn air compressor fire up everytime i get off the highway to jack the car up. Fox bodies have no gimmicks. Its just a small car with a big engine that can get you good gas mileage if you baby it, good power when you want it, and last forever. I dont mind DDing my fox at all. I love it

I dd mine almost every day unless I stay home. I always use seat covers on the front seats to protect them, then uncover them for a show or cruise. My a/c and heat currently still work. In town I won't turn on a/c usually, but will on a highway trip. I have been driving a fox since November 91 and next year will be the first time that I will be looking for a different car to daily drive/show/cruising. Can't make my mind up yet what I'm looking for.

I dd my fox. 50 miles roundtrip for work. Occasional trips to see the parents, 300 mile round trip. I put about 16 - 18k a year on it.
For the most part I love it. Always having the option to accelerate, corner, or brake aggressively is fun.
But, the squeaks, slighty rough ride, loud exhaust ect. is getting old. Plus, the bottom end is trashed. Lots of blow-by. Pushes the dipstick out couple inches, rear main leaks, burns lots oil. Good excuse for a stroker.
In the next few years I'll be looking at purchasing a dd. Will always keep this stang though.

No, I feel bad that both my Foxes are cooped up in my garage right now because they're both slobbering their bodily fluids all over the ground.
A fox that doesn't leak is a fox that is out of fluids.

Where do you live that you have meteorites on the highway, and did you keep it?
I was coming home to St Louis, MO from North Carolina and i was on the highway behind my friends car. he drives a dodge magnum, which rides higher than my fox i suppose. his magnum cleared it, mine might have, but i nailed it with my front left tire at 80 mph. The car was definitely airborne. Bent the FL rim, bulged the tire so bad i could stick a pen in the bead, and busted my spring in half (well, that happened a few months later, but im convinced this was the source). I drove on it for another few miles at 80 mphand stopped for gas...thats when i noticed a softball sized bulge sticking out of the tire. I can post pics if you want. Never really saw what it was because we made that entire trip in one day, so i was pretty zoned out, and hauling ass. So i call it a meteorite lol
Im a little worried about having a Fox as a DD. My Cobra has never gotten above the "O" in NORMAL with the AC blasting and and stuck in traffic in 100* weather. Seems like an electric water pump and electric fan with a good radiator and a 3G alt is a good investment in a DD Fox 
When i DD my fox, i used to drive it in blazing 100 degree temps sitting in traffic for an hour or so and the temp never rose above 188*
I had an SN95 e-fan, 3-core rad and 50/50 mix with water wetter and a 180* tstat. It was reliable. In the spring and fall i could drive around with the fan off. As long as i kept moving, the temp stayed under 190

what's the big deal with running the A/C in traffic? I do it every day. When I have to take my truck to work I then remember why I went out and bought another car. driving a truck sucks nutz unless you are towing or going fishing.
