I have a 13 month old so I am looking for a catback that will not resonate/drone in the car. Prefer a deep sound but it is not as important as the drone. Same with volume.

Looking for sound files of the following cat-backs with O/R pipe if possible:

Pacesetter TFX
FRPP
Hooker competition
other in the $300 or less range.

I am not happy with my welded in flowmasters (need to be replaced) and even my buddies Borla resonates...

Thanks Guys...

I have tried them all. the ONLY one that has less drone is the Dynomax super turbo. Much much quieter.

an x-pipe helps with the dron over an H..... I have mac mufflers with turn downs, and it drones way less than my buddies with h-pipe and flows...

As stated above, the dynomax ultra flow system is one of the cleanest overall sound systems i have heard on a mustang. good luck with your decision

I've heard that Hooker Aerochamber's have a deep sound, and are quiet. My buddy wasn't happy with his, toooo quiet.

I run 50 series 'flows with an O/R H pipe and shorty headers. NO DRONE.

with the kid I'd recommend Dynomax Super Turbos, very mellow mufflers.

Make sure you don't buy the Ultra, they are loud. Buy the super turbo's, much quieter.

My MAC cat-back drones less than my old flowmasters, and my SLP (SLP was more loud than anything else, so it was just LOUD, which is equally annoying as drone).

I have a Bassani x-pipe with the ford racing cat-back and it has no drone. The car sounds way better than stock and the cat-back is all stainless with very nice tailpipes.

I got a new Magnaflow catback on E-bay shipped for $380. With long tubes and an x-pipe it doesn't drone.

In fact when I went with long tubes, an x-pipe and 40 series flows from shorty's and an H-pipe, the drone drasctically went away.

Thanks for the replies guys... I don't really want to go long tubes so I can put cats back on for emissions....

So haw about an alternate type of question. if I go from the welded in 2.25 to a 2.5 catback, does the increase in pipe dismaeter help to eliminate the drone...?

In order for the car not to drone-

1. Put a catted midpipe back in

off road = drone with any catback except stock

2. Get a straight through design muffler (Magnaflow)

Finish-

Every muffler drones but the dynomax super turbo drones the least. Yo umust have had the ultra or a leak in your car.
