what is everyones opinion on who makes the best x pipes? i want to put on a bassani street catback and cant decide who to go with on the x. aluminized or stainless doesn't matter.

also i have BBK unequal shorties on there now. to get the most out of this system should i go longtubes, equal or unequal?

If your motor is basically stock the BBK unequals lengths are fine. I have the BX series Bassani cat back and its 3 years old. Its still in perfect shape!(non-stainless)
I had the same decision to make a year ago. I went with FHS. It makes a few more ponies then the Bassani and its alot cheaper. I too wanted the famed Bassani, but after alot of research found that the cats like to clog on them! Not a big deal but a pain in the ass!

not stock anymore. basically the pretty close to the gt40 crate engine with the E cam from ford racing. 10:1 compression 306, gt40x heads. will be procharged within the next six to eight months.

i've got flows and an off road h on there now.

i live in kansas but the car doesn't see much moisture anymore.

i'm leaning towards the dr gas x now. are they stainless or aluminized?

anymore input on longtubes. i want the best sound i can get out of everything and just wasn't sure if the longtubes affects the sound at all. LT's overkill for a lil 306 (keep in mind it will be supercharged soon)

well i just fiqured out that dr gas makes kits that only fit manuals (damn AOD) but the short X for MAC?BBK LT's might work....but wait....bbk doesn't make LT's for auto's, MAC does though . i'm gonna give dr gas a call tomorrow.

what do u guys think? go with the mac #TFA793 and give dr gas a call to see if the short X will work?

well i called mac and dr gas. mac's got me curious about the prochamber and says it will make more power then any X. dr gas said they've fit their X's on a fox before, but its not an out of the box deal. so i've decided on the mac LT's and bassani street setup.

should i make the dr gas work or just get a prochamber? i want a raspy sound (dr gas said in that case i might not be happy with the X.)

help

VRS makes X pipes for Mac long tubes that would work with your set up. Head to their site and look at it, mines a nice piece, just needs some hangers wleded up (which i did) to make it perfect!

I have a T5, not sure if with LTs it matters. I would say call some companies and ask, but I dont believe I have ever seen a mid pipe that was tranny specific, only headers. I didnt get the stainless and kick myself every day for it. My car wont see any foul weather, but still, should have spent te extra for it. I do not have pics right now, but could probably get some one day soon!

dr gas. is claiming that their X won't fit an AOD but the "convertable" kit they sell has worked on a fox before. i couldn't picture the AOD being that much larger and that is the first i've heard of it. a mid pipe for long tubes can't be that different right? maybe for shorties.

My guess is a shorty one is the one they mention. The LT X pipe is a couple feet long, I cant see it interfeiring with anything under there!
