**** ing engine builders So i brang my block in to get made into a 306 w/forged internals. They said it would be a month and it would be done. Well now its been 2 2/1 months and i went and dropped off my oil pan there today.(Welded a fitting in it for the blower line) and it was sitting there on the ****ing ground dissasembled. They haven't even touched it. So now i'm going there tomorrow and picking up all my **** and going else where.

I've decided that i'm going to buy the new FRPP BOSS block. That block should support the hp i want. I'm looking to get in the 500's. I'm gonna call FRPP tomorrow and talk to them about it. Do you guys have any information on it? Where is the best place to buy it? Or what other blocks would you rec?

Sorry i'm in a bad mood tonight! Any help would be appreciated. I'm going to Superbad though in 10 mins so i won't be back on for a few hours. THanks though guys!

Thats not an accurate statement at all lol...

This one has quite a few miles on it, not a fox, but only one example of a local racer's car:

I'm located in Mankato, Minnesota. Do you guys happen to know the HP rating on them? Why not just buy the block from like 50resto.com? What is the disadvantage to that? I suppose the shipping might hurt a bit but maybe they'll throw it in?

do a 351 swap. It'll hold 500hp plus you can stroke it to 408. Not to mention that a good 351 roller block can be had on the cheap.

Why does that sn95 claim 9s everywhere in that thread but it's ran a best of 10s?

Oh, and Boss block ftw.

My friend had a Boss block that turned into a bigger headache than he ever imagined... That SN95 looks great and the price seemed good as well. Too bad it was an AOD car! Also a 10.1 is not a 9 second pass. Might have 9 second potential with that mph, but did not run 9s, trust me, I know all about that!

500 to the tires, you don't need a Boss block. Now with a turbo you could run a bit more power safer, but with an SC and a good tune it should last a bit on 500 to the tire.

Dont feel too bad man, i got screwed over on my engine, and my paintjob. To make a long story short, i took my bare block to a reputable shop, the supposedly bored and honed it to a 306, put in my TFS 10:1 pistons, turned my crank, reassembled the shortblock, and balanced it.

i got divorced and didnt have the money to put it all together for a few years. finally got the money, took it to a different shop (best in the area that i didnt know about at the time) they checked everything, found it was only bored to 24 thousandths instead of .030, and upon startup i would have galled my rings and had to tear it down. they then found the motor wasnt balanced to anything, found my stock crank had a crack in it (i got to verify all of this, as they were cool enough to call me before proceeding on anything) then they found that the other shop pressed my pins into my pistons for some unknown reason instead of how they were supposed to be floating... etc etc etc....

anyways, i ended up having to get a new crank, new rods, have the pin pressed out of the pistons, and assembled correctly, have the motor rebalanced etc...

I called the original machine shop and they said that since it had been over 90 days, they wouldnt do anything for me.... so i was out almost 900 bucks, plus another 700 to the new machine shop.

as far as my paint, the guy had my car 6 months, didnt do everything i asked him to do, and the paint job is sub-par at best.
