Explorer Intake Mani ?

So I've searched for this for about 45 minutes, and I haven't found one thread actually answering the OP's question of 'Will the explorer upper and lower intake bolt onto a 95 GT with no other changes?' without everyone instead debating about the performance of the explorer vs. cobra, etc.

If you know of a thread, please, just post it and I'll check it out.

Will an internal EGR explorer intake (is it 97 and older explorers?) bolt right onto my 95 GT w/ 70mm BBK TB, or will I have to mess with my BBK adjustable FPR, MAF, or PCM? I understand there are some slight clearance issues, but also understand that this can be remedies with the removal of the hood liner? Is that a good idea for a daily driver? I'm worried mostly about outflowing my MAF and don't want to have to pay for tuning until I'm out of college and really start modding this thing.

I don't know why the PO has the 70mm BBK TB on there now with stock intake/heads/exhaust manis. Does have BBK H-pipe w/o cats and flowmaster exhaust, BBK adjustable FPR (that requires me to prime 3-5 times before start), but still not enough in my eyes to warrant a TB upgrade.

I want some cheap power here with minimal extras. As of right now with the larger throttle body, I feel as though she might be getting too much air, as the car ALWAYS hesitates in low RPM for a few seconds the first time you gently launch into first. No matter how warm it is, it's like the MAF has to re-calibrate, but then it runs just fine after that.

Oh, and what's so special about the SN95 intake elbows? Why are they so expensive?

Thanks guys!

Yes it will bolt strait on just need the elbow. 95's dont use an internal style egr set up.

and what do you mean by out flowing your maf????? who told you this? there is no way your going to peg your stock maf with just an intake swap... even with HCI you dont really peg the maf. Bigger injectors cause you to change to a calibrated maf or get your car tuned.

Thank you :D.

I was reading somewhere I think on corral about MAF. I plan on supercharging a fresher built motor after I get out of college for this car, so mods will be limited to light bolt ons until then, because that will be $$$.

When would I need injectors? If I get a good deal I may go GT40 heads and a cobra cam (or SLIGHTLY more aggressive aftermarket that won't need tuning if possible) w/ cobra PCM (per suggestion of someone on here I think) too.

If you want to go with a cobra ecu (J4J1) you would need to go to 24lb injectors as thats what the ECU is calibrated to deal with...

Wait for HCI or a power adder to upgrade your injectors... a mild HCI you will be fine with 24lbers.
