I have a 1993 cobra with the stock intake. My lower intake cracked and it seems it will be just as cheap to pick up another one than have the current one fixed. I have a guy that is wanting to sell me an explorer lower that has EGR. He also says he will go ahead and tap the hole for the ACT sensor. However, I noticed on his explorer intake and many others the plate on the bottom side is much bigger than the one on my stock cobra lower. Will it still work fine with these plates being a different size? What is it even there for? Here is the size of the explorer one for example:
