I'm thinking about getting a F303 and was wondering if the lift would be to much for the AFR165's .550" lift springs? I already have the 1.7 rr's which would put it at .544" lift. Is this cutting it close or will I be alright?
Not really sure, but I just installed an E cam, GT40X heads, and Cobra 1.7 rr. I had the heads milled to 58 cc and mine is working pretty good. Not really sure about an F. Somone else will probably chime in.
you'd be fine with the 1.7...,however, if you could spend $150 more and get a custom cam...that would definatley take a better adventage of those AFR's...
Yea, I had an F-cam and changed my mind and got a Xtreme energy cam that would take better advantage of the 165's . This cam is streetable and makes awesome torque. Im building the motor now. I have to check the clearances with some clay or something, hopefully the cam will work with the heads. The cam is 544 int, 555 ex. and my heads are 165 emissions legal 58cc, Anyone have any idea whether it will fit?

I have afr 185's (2.02 intake valve) on my 306. I have a cam pushing .512 lift with 1.7 RR's and the clearance was tight but was enough. You also have to realize 165's have the 1.90 intake valve. Other than that I suggest you just check your clearance it's a little time consuming but is just a safe route.

It should fit with room to spare and it's NOT the max lift that causes the interference. Interference occurs near TDC when the vlv is just coming off seat on intake and going on seat on exhaust...peak lift occurs when piston is in the hole for both int & exh.
