Progress Thread Father Time: High-$ anti-dent defense system

Random Thought:

Fade all the way back through the rear valance.

Just to help illustrate

Striping? I'm really happy with the single color for the time being. One of the things I like about foxtoberfest is walking around looking at the field of 800+ cars and seeing 20+ different attempts to do something I'm thinking about for my cars. It helped me realize that I didn't like the Saleen body kits and pushed me back towards Cobra trim. It's where I saw someone with the tow hook in the foglight area, though they only had one on the passenger side. I engaged at least 3 people about how gobsmacked I was with their car and found out that Manir Kareem was the guy behind their paint jobs/interiors.

So, when you and I are walking the field together in October, show me some examples that others have done.

I'm pretty excited to have this car parked next to Grover there, this year.

Beautiful and functional at the same time - not easy to pull off. Well done! That hood works perfectly with the body lines. And you don't normally see cupholders with a cage of that magnitude! Awesome!

The only way to make it "awesomer" would be a burnout pic :leaving:

Asking for a friend .... do those taillight lenses look better in person than they do in the pics? :runaway:
Maybe. I did reuse the OEM lenses, as new ones don't have the Ford logo, and they looked alright to me. I also have a couple at home. Is your problem just the black trim? May be able to touch that up.

Has long been my favorite hood, and the real feat was getting it to work with the Box-R intake. Motor's on lowered solid mounts. It is soo close at the TB pipe and at the front edge of the upper manifold. Had to shave the spacer just right to both clear the hood & clear the plug wires.

My 2" Kaenen from this car, that I love, has been relegated to the daily.

Today was genuinely one of the most satisfying days in my life.

The paint is sick, and the blue hued headlights are sweet!

Ok, maybe not blue-hued, but the reflection/refraction from the paint had a pretty sweet effect. Adam Carter was showing off a car at Foxtoberfest that had a towing anchor in one foglight. Had to have it... I immediately asked him to make one for each side of mine. This made it easy to winch FT up into the trailer & ratchet strap it in, without concern for routing a strap under the front fascia.

Another shot of the interior with the instrument cluster is back in, and I had my fingers crossed that the Cruise Buttons would work with this Momo steering wheel. The convertible switch actions the electric exhaust cutout, though it's honestly still too loud with the cutout closed. The foglight switch initiates datalogging stored in the BS3. Line lock & reverse lockout are controlled by the button on the hurst shifter. I've had the UDX dash for many years, and with it I can see all sensor inputs. The Recaro Sportster GT Seats with Sub-Hole are comfy, and Sam & Manir modified the old cage's crossbar, setting it further back & making custom seat brackets to give me more, sorely needed leg room. I decided to leave out stock seatbelts to prevent clutter & force me to use the 5-point harness, and not become complacent. There's a new fuel level gauge ziptied temporarily near my right knee, that doesn't get in the way, but I'm still considering where to permanently mount it. It actually might not be a bad spot.

After getting back to my neck of the woods, the local mustang club cancelled the dinner link-up they'd planned, so instead I headed out into the 'wild' for Mexican & margaritas to meet a couple friends. It was about a 40 miles round trip, and it went without issue. It's such a sweetheart at low load cruise -- better than Black Jack and Grover. My theory is that lower compression widens the window of tunes that work well. It never bucked despite getting to ~1300 rpm a couple times. My tune still seems pretty spot on for driveability, but I'll wait to get jiggy with it until I'm able to test and take it slow.

Finally, got home and nestled Father Time safely away with his stable mates. It's a nice feeling to have it back at home:

So, I already have a list of wants/needs to do. But, I feel back ahead of the curve and able to handle them.

More to follow.

I need to show my wife this last pic so that next time I buy a car I can say "I'm just trying to keep up with @FastDriver".
