fed up...tell me whats up

Every time i see these lancer evo's and STI's I get more and more pissed off. I am going to throw on a procharger d1sc when I get back home to my mostly stock 99 cobra (see sig) I am thinking of throwing down 9-10 psi. What should I be ordering right now to make the install perfect and safe such as injectors (32#?) and a fuel pump (255?) or anything else. Give me some advice. I want to break 10's with my daily driver and keep my IRS (I love it) Thanks

With a stock bottom end don't go much over 10psi. and you will need at least 42# injectors. The Procharger kit should come with the fuel pump, I think it is a 255. Check with Procharger and they will let you know what comes in their kit. I had to buy injectors (I went with 55#), MAF (I went with the UNIVER), and I went with the 03 Cobra pump and tank instead of the 255. I went with the 03 fuel setup because the 255 wouldn't handle the 16#'s I am running.
Hope this helps! :flag:

So you think I will be fine running 10#'s on the street with the 99? I know the rods are crap (pressed metal). The crank is strong as hell and the pistons are alright. You think 42# injectors with 10 psi? The kit as you probably know comes in 6,8, and 10 psi levals. I read that it comes with a diablosport chip and some sort of a fmu. I plan on getting it dyno tuned somewhere in alabama or florida as that's where i am headed. You think an hour should be enough on the dyno....i doubt it but hey, who knows. Thanks for your help

I ran a P-1SC 10# kit for a year on a stock bottom end on my 99. I used the UNIVER MAF and 42s like SLOBRA says, also as he says on the D-1SC keep 10#s no more to play it safe. Same injectors will work. Go with the 2003 fuel system (tank and dual pumps) now, verse playing the game to find a fuel pump setup. I tossed the ATI supplied fuel pump and used 2 pumps before I was happy.

When you forge the bottom end and now want to run 15# plus do as SLOBAR also says, upgrade to 55#s. The 2003 fuel system will now work just fine too.

I did this exact thing see sig. Also, when you have the bottom end forged , and the engine is out, save some $$s for long tubes. I di d this. The one thing I want to do still is port the upper and lower intake now. My goal is 600 RWHP.

BUT, BUT,,,,I will give up on the IRS, sorry. I got a ton of receipts for $$s spent on trying to fix the wheel hop and getting expensive half shafts, that I am done and beaten. The wheel hop fix is a mirage. I suggest you re-think that one. The power you will generate will give you some more clues, but take it from me. Solid Axle her someday.

Ya..when the motor is out put on the long tubes and look hard at getting rid of the IRS and go with solid axles. I love the hook you get off of a solid axle and slicks, don't try slicks with the IRS or you'll need a tow truck.

I should be good with the supplied fuel pump for a while right??? My budget has a lot more than my car in it at the moment unfortunately. Tell me more about the tune that came with the kit and what you recommend. Is the supplied tune good enough to drive with or should I get it dyno tuned instantly before i even drive the car??? I am thinking about spending a hour or so on the dyno getting it reliably tuned as it is my daily driver but am curious to how well the stock tune holds up.

Custom tune right from the start. The tune is the most critical, spend the money here. I already had a JMS Autologic chip, so that was uesed during the dyno session.

I struggled with the supplied Walbro 255 pump, but I know others that were OK, I bailed on it eventually and found the "Chicane" pump to work good. You can try the ATI supplied fuel pump and see how it works out.

I got my used 42s, that I will sell. If you want send me a PM with an offer. I am running 55s now for my D-1SC setup, so that is the only reason I swapped them out.

Be very careful with the D1sc - its going to make alot more boost than you think..Get the largest pulley if you only want 10lbs. Spend your money on the fuel upgrades - as stated above, the 03 setup is great. Might as well go with 55lbers for injectors - a competent tuner will tune them better than stock, plus that D1SC will easily require them when you turn up the wick a bit.
My 42's are completely maxed at 500rw - so I now have to upgrade everything.
