Fellow Northern Virginia foxes - i need help.

I got a ticket the other day for "improper exhaust". The cop told me anything other than what came off the factory, is illegal. But thats very wrong. I talked to another cop, and he said as long as it passes emissions, isnt leaking, and exits the back - its legal. but here's where I need help...

I need to take a picture of a somewhat legal exhaust as close to stock as possible (cats, mufflers, tailpipe going out the back). I'm only running an x-pipe, otherwise i would be taking pictures of my own car.

This needs to be done before the 21st of March, so no real rush. I stay in ashburn, but I will drive wherever. Thanks guys.

just get a couple of used cats and gut them or buy a couple of those straight through ones. i'm assuming your want pics of someone else's exhaust so you can pass it as yours... sounds like you might dig yourself a nice hole.

I'm close to you, but what Kurt says has me a little leary. Are you looking to pass it off as your own? Or are you tring to find another picture of a stock exhaust for comparison sake?

Pass it off as my own. Im not seeing how I would be digging myself a hole. Its a 110 dollar ticket I cant pay, if I can get out of it for free. IM in a rutt and i dont have money for this.. help moreso than opinions would be greatly appreciated.

im near richmond va. ive got stock headers, mid pipe and a totally legal 3 chamber flowmaster catback. can i help you?

I know you said help more than advice... but I've gotta chime in one more time. I'd be showing up for the court date on that one once I made sure the second cop had the law right. What you're being charge with seems like charging someone with with replacing their tires with other than stock tires. Everyone does it all the time! It's pretty crazy. Good luck!

yeah i gotcha. the second cop gave me the print out of the actual code violation. so im sure of it.
