Fiberglass Hood -- to pin or not to pin...

Concerned..

I am having a car built that is almost complete. (see sig below)
The car has a fiberglass Eleanor 2 hood and a GT350R front valance.
This hood has no provisions for a stock latch.
The car will only have 2 locking pins in the front.
They are the almost flush style that are locked/unlocked by a round key.
Is this going to be a problem?
If so what are my options?

Can you use a chain or bar on the hooks where the springs go instead of a prop rod?

I've seen a short section of chain used for this, turn one link sideways and insert...viola!

I have also launched a hood in my career.

I used hinges without the springs, and the hood pins in the hinges to lock the hood up.

It will work fine untill the day comes that you forget to lock it, then say good by!

Just take your old hood spring out and go to Home Depot and buy some trampoline springs of the same lenght. Believe me they work very well at 1/4 of the cost.
