Finally tried the clay bar. The car looks amazing, but I really think the cleaner wax in the kit did more than the clay. The clay just seemed like an unnecessary step; it didn't even get dirty until I did the section on the bumper behind the rear wheels.
Maybe it's just for people that hardly ever detail their cars. I usually try to keep my cars spotless, so maybe that's why I didn't see a drastic improvement.
I also wetsanded and polished the a few spots on the car like a month and a half ago.

Anyways, here's the pics. Too bad my camera sucks; it looks A LOT better in person.

*If you're wondering why the front bumper looks wierd, it's rattlecanned black and clear.;) Looking at respraying the whole car after getting an S281 spoiler and a new front bumper, but I can't decide on a stock Cobra bumper, or the one from ABC with the chin spoiler molded in.

looks great, even the rattlecan paint job lol....

my .02, even tho the abc bumper would look great, i mean it flows great with the lower body lines and makes the front a little lower... its all personal preference... i think the oem style cobra is aggressive... but i personally think the abc 1 makes the car fall into a saleen category, where its aggressive yet classy...

sorta like wearin the t-shirt tuxedo... classy, yet ready to party :D just my .02

Thanks for the compliments.
I'm really happy with the car. Even though it's mostly stock, it's the perfect daily driver.
It just doesn't seem like the same neglected 'vert I bought cheap at a little used car lot 10 months ago; and I haven't really done too much. The same could probably be said about any of us that recently picked up our cars. It's hard to believe they're 12 & 13 years old. But who's gonna take better care of them than us? I guess that's why we're all here, to improve our cars.

As for the bumper I have been leaning towards the ABC bumper. I just started recently considering the stock Cobra; don't really know why.

haha...that's funny...Clay Barr's my name

That is funny.:D

Looks great! Does it come in a kit or something where you get different phases?
From your local pep boys?

It was actually like $10 cheaper at Wal Mart than I've seen at Advance, so I grabbed it.
I used the Mothers kit. Came with the bar, a bottle of 'finishing polish' or something, and a small bottle of cleaner wax.

Basically you wash & dry. Then you spray the finishing stuff and rub the bar on the wet area. Dry the excess and apply the cleaner wax when you've finished a whole panel.

You can reuse everything, but I doubt the cleaner wax is big enough for a 2nd job. I don't know cause I already had the same Mothers cleaner wax in a bigger bottle.
