My car has been running like crap for years and as a result, I never drive it. Well I finally decided to get it tuned by Eric Laferriere in Johnston, RI and here are the results...

blue line is initial, green is first tune, and I beleive red is with 2 more degrees timing.

Also had 3.73's installed while he had the car...What a difference everything made!

mods are in my sig...the plans at the moment are for AFR 185's or Victor Jr.'s and a single turbo setup this winter.

42 views and no feedback?

any advice on what to change to get her over 300rwhp? I'm going to ditch the flowmasters and pro chamber for some magnaflows and an OR H or X, so that should pick up a few hp.

he tried advancing the timing 2 more degrees and it didn't help, so that is out.

anyone?

HP looks right on for the combo but the TQ values seem a little low...might be the lower compression. However looks like she'd be fun on the street, congrats and keep us updated with the additions!!!!

just curious do you know exactly why the car didnt run good without the tune? i dont see a reason that it should have acted up it was all pretty basic stuff, you havent added the boost yet so to me it seems like it should have ran decent on the stock untuned ECU, assuming your MAF matched your injectors

DMAN, thanks for the feedback! I think foir the compression ratio, it did pretty well.

Foxfan, the MAF is matched. Problem was that the car had no O2's and I didn't realize until recently that the computer can't really do anything without them. When I had the initial work done, I didn't really know much of anything about Mustangs and didn't think much of it. The car ran like crap, and as a result, I drove it less than 3000 miles in 4 years.

That baseline was done with the O2's installed and the motor had run for an hour or so over about 30 miles.

now it runs like a stocker again...I can cruise at as low as 1000-1200 rpm and its butter smooth. I'm really happy about the 50+ lb ft bump down low

did the car run better? at start up then started acting up once it got warmed up??
the ECU doesnt pay attention to the o2s until it enters closed loop mode, which means all it does is look at o2s to maintain 14.7:1 AFR and before it gets to closed loop all other parameters must be in range.

i am not sure but if you didnt have o2s connected to the harness at all it may have gone into limp mode upon start up all the time and ran like crap.that seems like what may gave happened, hardcore EEC tuner dude would have to chime in on this

either way good hearing you got it going good and you need to go out and do some good burnouts and see how long she can draw two black lines down the road lol.

Seems like you should be a little faster at the track. Did you race w/ street tires?

funny you should mention that...I am never doing another burnout again unless it is to warm up tires at the track. I just took the car to New England Summer Nationals and absolutely annihilated a pair of tires in a 4 gear burnout. I also annihilated some quarter panel trim and a bunch of paint and it took me 3 hours today to clean the rubber off

I didn't drive the car to the dyno...Eric did, so I can't comment on how it did with the O2's

GTO, yea, that was on 5-6 year old 225mm wide Potenzas with some seriously bad driving. I was cutting 60's as high as 2.5 and spinning into 2nd and 3rd. Next time up will be on some MT Drag Radials on the ponies. I'll definitely update everyone. hoping to get to the mid to low 12's.

Oh ok. Yeah with some traction and heads up driving I see mid 12's there!

I'd say nice #'s. I got 287 w/ somewhat similar mods.
