Congrats Blakester, I know this day has been a long time comin. :nice: I'm glad you went with the silver over the red and it looks like you got one hell of a deal on it. Not as subtle as I was expecting but it's making me wonder now if I don't want to include some ultra subtle flames of my own into the blacked out Mach 1 hood area, kind like that guy with the 68' Fastback had done into his Lemans stripes. Drawing a blank on his name right now, but I remember him having to sell it for some reason shortly after it was done and never hearing from him again.

Thanks Pak! Subtle flames in the Mach black out would be awesome! Maybe you could even get away with black flames in a different finish. Like have the blackout in flat or semigloss, and the flames in high gloss.

Yeah I think at the very least it would certainly be different, I like the idea of a different finish with a tonal color too. I may need to work on some photchops of that after I finish a little project I am doing for 67GT.

Sweet looking ride. Awesome deal. My paint job is now creeping to 4k and NO flames!!!! Enjoy the hell out your car and the astounding amount of attention you're going to get from hot looking 19 year olds wearing daisy dukes and bikini tops. At least that's the way I like thinking about it.

looks really sweet....

two comments: It would have looked really sweet if the stripes had been carried onto the doors.

second: You may regret that fibgerglass scoop. I guarantee that it will crack where it is bonded to the hood....eventually.

Blake,

How's the reassembly of the chrome going? When are you going to get some more pictures up?

Tim

Reassembly has gone very well. I just have a few more things to work out and I'll be back on the road. :) In order to get pics, I have to both: meet with my friend with a digicam, and get him to upload more pics, so I'll need y'all to be patient for a little longer. I'm as excited to get finalized pics up as you guys are. :nice:

Why you gotta be a pessimist?

I assume when you say stripes, you mean flames. The simple fact is that it would've cost significantly more for them to stretch on to additional panels. Therefore, no flames on the doors. I won't regret the scoop. I'm well aware of the possibility of cracking, but I'd rather see a Shelby scoop with a few small cracks than the POS hood that was on there that would practically fold in half everytime I closed it. Plus, I've worked with Len Stuart of autobodystore.com, and he has assured me that if there is any product that will bond 'glass to steel and not crack, that's the one I used.

You know I resent that. :rlaugh:

Blake....I love saying I told you so. If I were anymore jealous right now...I wouldn't like you. Kick Ass job. If you have gone with red i think you would have been disappointed...i know i would have been. Can't wait for pics.

Thanks again y'all! I'm glad this has stayed long enough on the first page so that all my old school buddies can see it too. :)

It's "y'all". I would think you'd know that partner. What with time spent here in God's country, and isn't New Hampshire the Arkansas of New England?
