So I gave this guy a deposit to hold his GT for me.

It's an 01 and has the following engine mods:
-Vortech SQ Supercharger(he said it's running 8.5 psi)
-90 mm maf
-bassani x-pipe with gutted cats
-2 chamber flowmaster cat back

Approximately how much power should she be making?

How much more could be gained with boltons + cam swap?

thanks
Patrick

Whoa whoa whoa. Cam swaps are not worthless without headers. I believe VT did a swap on a near stock car (catback?) and gained about 30 rwhp.

And I doubt it'll be 380 at the wheels with such minimal mods. I'll say ~340-350.

the power is gonna depend mainly on the tune...he could be anywhere between 310-390...it's all speculation, but that's not what I'd base the car's value on....the mileage and condition are all that matters in the long run...plus I'd actually take away from a car's value (In MOP) if it's been modded...who knows the effort put into the work, and how bad the car's been beat on?

yeha i wouldnt be worried about adding cams just yet... make sure the car runs right...

a s/ced GT can have troubles with the engine if its run too hard and not taken care of...

first thing id do.. is a basic tuneup and then take it to get dyno tuned to make sure its running right

Thanks for the replies guys!

I'm not really worried about the price or worth because I already bought the car.
Just waiting 2 weeks until I can pick it up.

I was just wondering about the power.

He said it's running a bit rich...so first thing will definitely be a tune.

I agree. :nice:

As for the stang, since it has a s/c,i would have the compression checked. You never know, buddy of mine picked up a s/c stang last year, and brought home, and it has been sitting in his driveway since..why...an engine nock occured once he got it home!!And he picked it up for a good price to i believe. The guy priced it to get rid of was our guess, cause he was really willing to let her go. :owned:
