last week i was thinking (i do that once in a while) that my king has sat idle in the garage since last june. it was a long 2003 summer, work, family, etc. and i purchased a new 03 sport trac after a 63 year old lady decided she didn't like the way my t-bird looked. paid it off 3 weeks before the accident.

so after seeing quite a few nice cars being posted lately, i caught the bug and laid out some cash and started rebuilding the front end of the king this evening. new tubular lowers, factory uppers, ball joints, springs, bushings, strut rods and lots of fresh paint.

with my schedule and using hand tools, it will probably take a few weeks. i will snap some pics when completed.

so thanks to everybody for getting me back in the swing of things

I am starting to get the itch II!!! Today one of my old customers came to the shop I am working at now, to have an Edelbrock carb and intake installed on his truck. The truck is a 1972 Ford F100. It has a 390 in it. He has had it since new. What a beutifull truck. Loaded with all the dealer installed options. A/C power windows ect. The Interior looks like it came from the same vintage Lincoln. Kool! After selling lowering springs for VW's and BMW's all day, its nice to see something kool and Ford at the same time!!! To me A BMW looks like the box a kool car comes in?????

I got the itch Monday when we had our first 78 degree day of the year...took the '78 T-Top to work...Used up 1/2 tank of $2.06/gal gas while watching it run 220+ degrees in stop-go traffic and 180 degrees when moving good. Also got to feel the loose u-bolts allowing the rear end to shift slightly when I'd step on it or let off, and noticed that I hadn't washed it and it really needed it before taking it in public.

My coupe in the garage is still in the middle of a big turbo upgrade for which I just ordered a header and external wastegate. New 3" exhaust, big injectors, an EEC tuner, and some intercooler piping are about all it'll be waiting on to be on the road again. Hopefully it will put my 351W to shame for power and prompt me to finally sell the T-top.

well everything is going ok. 3 1/2 hours to diassemble the front end. only broke one captured nut inside the frame rail for the sway bar bushing.

few tips: soak with a liquid wrench type product over several days. remove the strut rods first. i was even able to get them out with the headers in place. an offset 3/4 and 7/8 box wrench is extremly useful.
