Well the track on saturday night was well prepped and I think my BFG's are finally starting to get some wear and they really were hooking up. Here's the slip:

RT............ +.098 (they just started the new timing system, so its actually a .598
60'........... 1.935
1/8 ET...... 8.905
1/8 MPH....77.56
1/4 ET...... 13.926
1/4 MPH.... 98.53

Mods are as follows:

- 255/50/16 BFG Comp TA dr's @ 15psi (with 225/55/16 on front 16's)
- Disconnected swaybar
- Tokico adjustable front shocks (at softest setting, stock rear shocks)
- 3.73's
- Aluminum DS (not worth a damn for 1/4 times)
- Pro-M 75mm Bullet chrome (not worth a damn for 1/4 times)
- Ebay CAI (again more bling than hp)
- stock h-pipe with cats cut off
- 2 chamber flowmasters
- MSD Blaster Coil
- Underdrive Pulleys
- 13* timing

Thats all I can remember. Stock manifold, stock headers, valve covers never been off. :flag:

I actually beat a 96 Cobra also, and he had gears and a catback. He couldnt believe I only had a couple mods, he wanted me to pop the hood because he bet me $5 I had an intake. He said no way I was trapping 98+ mph with the stock intake/cam/heads. :D

I told him to save his $5 and get some more mods so he can beat 94/95 GT's from now on. :rlaugh:

awesome times, u must be one hell of a driver! how did u launch?

I actually was pretty conservstive, but I do consider myself a better than average driver. I would get a little haze from a 1st gear burnout/brake tq in the water, tach it up to about 4k and dump it. My first pass, which was a 14.3, I bogged it horrifically because I only gave it like 2k rpm. These BFG's do not spin anywhere near the Nitto's, and they seem to recover after spinning alot better. The Nitto's would hook decently, but if they spun even a tiny bit the run was pretty much shot, because I would have to let off for them to regain traction.

I wish I would have gotten some more passes because with each run I was getting faster. I went 14.3, then 14.00, 13.96, & 13.92. It was a bracket event, and I broke out in the first round so I got no more runs that night. I plan on going to T&T and get a bunch more practice with these tires because they really seem to be hooking up better now than when they were brand new.

The combo of the shocks and swaybar definitely helps weight transfer. I have only good things to say about the Illumina's. I drive on the road with them on their firmest setting & I road-race a couple times a year and they hold up great. At the drag strip I put them all the way to soft and they will allow tons of weight transfer, just dont try to drive with them like that on the street.
