Well i have finally made it to the track tonight. I went with a couple friends, just to play around. here are the slips

My best run was the 9.21, all times were on street tires very little traction, and 14* timing and fuel pressure at 36#. full street trim seats, spare and all.

tell me what you think, analyze etc. What kind of quarter mile does this equate to is there a calculator or what.

Thanks

Jason

those are damn good times you got.I will bet once you get drs or et streets, you will pull some good times also.

on my 9.08 et, guys on here calculated it to a 14.15 I believe.

I think they said there is a calculation chart over at "Modulardepot".com....I think

good job though

yeah i already got a deal worked out on some nittos for the track ( i think )

i think with better traction, and not falling asleep at the wheel i could have gotta very low 9's or a ver very high 8

The car isn't in tune, and was hotter than hell!! it was on the A or the L on the gauge every pass, i think my thermostat was sticking or something.

Jason, if that is true about your temp gauge, I predict you pick up almost 2mph in the 1/8th by running it at N or below. Our cars HATE heat, I can't stress this enough... they HATE HEAT. The EEC does all sorts of things to detune the car when the engine coolant rises. I like to run mine between 150-180* anymore and the times fall off. What rpm did you shift at? Generally from my experience, I NEVER ran a 13 anything unless I had a 1/8th in the 8's. I mean I have run 14.00 with a 9.000 1/8th and a 13.99 with a 8.999 1/8th.

I just ran my mom's STOCK '01 BULLITT at the track on my ET streets with a whopping 25lbs of air in them (I didn't want to break anything and my mom was driving it too and I didn't want it to "sway" on her), look what a little traction and ~2mph in the 1/8th can do for your times...

cool man i am glad you replied, you have the quickest n/a car on here, or where ever else i look. Since you have ran low 12's, I am sure the car was at least210 or 220 it was hot. I have some autometer gauges coming next week so i can keep an eye on stuff. i shifted at around 5200, i don't know if this is too low for toms intake or not but i guess i will figure it out. It spun like crazy in first and second gear. Instead of doing a burnout i just spun the water off the tires before each run. Was this the right thing to do

thanks for the replys

Hey you guys,

I have gotten my nittos today, earlier than expected, now i have to get some 15 inch wheels to put them on. My question is what rpm etc. are you launching these things at, and do you have to burn the snot out of them, or do you just spin the water etc. off when at the track. I also am planning on ordering another fan before going back to the track, (since my fan isn't working correctly) and possibly some underdrive pullies. With sticky tires cooler motor ( was on A, and L, on the stock gauge the other night) , and icing the intake and removing the passenger seats, front sway bar and go with like a quarter tank of gas, what kind of improvements do you think i could obtain over my current times. I wanna know what the best times i can get out of it are right now before i swap heads and possibly intakes.

everyone post up and tell me your thought, also take a look at my sig, and tell me if you think this about right for my mods.

Thanks
Jason

where do you live. I live right at sea level. When I had a cobra intake, 24# injectors,75 mm mass air, underdrives, full mac exhaust, and adjustable regulator I was running 8.8 at 78-79 mph with 2.1 60' times. That was with a stock 308 gear, stock cam, and stock heads. Your times sound a little on the slow side for your combo

well you had two things on me, one was the intake, and the other was the injectors, but however these times were also with the car as hot as it cold have been and killer told me that was a bad idea.

I will return with better times

If you're worried about that you'll never run good times. Giver hell and don't worry about it. Unless it's your daily driver, which maybe you shouldn't be bringing to the track.

if you're havin heat problems, try icing the intake. Its a cheap trick but it definately works. You gotta do it for each run though.

well, my driving wasn't up to par, first five speed i have ever had at the track, the gears actually hurt me i think, i have some sticky tires i am getting put on the v6 wheels this weekend as they are 15's This way i think i will make down the track without spinning quite so badly, i spun if first second , and just a little in third. I am probably gonna borrow some underdrives when i go back just to see what they actually do, if they help much i will buy a set. I also will have a factory replacement fan when i go back, since my car was trying to run so hot (again should be this weekend) i think i can get down in the 8.xx's with just tires, and so does all my dragger buddies. I drive mainly on the street, so they know more about the draggin' than i do. lol

Tistan2- well dude you may be a better driver than me or many things, but only time and practice, (oh and more parts will make it faster) gotta start somewhere.

Hey Andy, Man how is it going. Yeah this is the first time i have had it at the track, i had a friend with a trailer and truck go with me. I have also bought me a toyota truck for a daily driver so i can give her a little more hell now. Also just got finished moving last weekend into our first house, has a shop etc.. So i will have somewhere to fix it. Yes these are the first runs, on this combo, did you have your thumbpers when you went mid 13's, if so thats probably why i can't Mine have upgraded springs etc. but other than the milling, they only have a small valve job and some port cleanup. BTW did you ever selll your wheels.

gt jake, i will always have the break factor in the back of my head but now that i have a daily driver that won't stop me. lol

thanks for all the replys

Black 95gts i plan on doing just that whe i go back. Actuall here is a list of thinks i plan on when going back that will be changed etc.

nitto drag radials, on 15" rims
underdrives
factory fan replaced, and better cooling(also do the fan wire mod.)
more fuel pressure
icing intake
removing front sway bar, pass. seats, subs, spare tire
probably a short belt for just the water pump and alt., and the crank

Jason

p.s. what do you guys think that the changes above "could" yield
