So i finally got to take my stang to the track its been over a year since i have even set foot at a track much less raced.. i have only had a 3 weeks of seat time in my new 05 gt and im still not confident with the clutch.. but anyway here are the results..

Fastest et: 13.5 @ 103.. i guess thats ok for the car being almost stock?? not sure what these cars should run? anyway my reaction and 60 foot was horrible.. thanks to wheel hop and crap tires.. .467 reaction.. lol and 2.24 60 ft.. ill try again next week and try to feel the clutch out some more!

Those are very good times even with those 60' times. LCA's will reduce wheelhop and you would probably improve your 60' by at least .2 sec.

yeah i think so too.. she pulls really hard and i believe i can drop some more time off honestly with a new shifter and some seat time i think i can get to a 13.3 13.2

Definitely good times for such little modifications. Must be some good air where you are.

Not bad at all for the first time out! With what you have now and launch practice, you could get the 60's down in the 2.0s fairly easy! Reducing the wheel hop will no doubt help. The LCAs are easy to replace. Two bolts and the parking brake cable on each side. I found the hardest part was removing and replacing the parking brake cable. Perhaps there is a better tool to use than an open end wrench to wedge in the bracket for that

Nice run!

That's about right. My first time to Atco, NJ with nothing but GT500 Rims/Tires, a C&L 'street', and canned SCT tune, was a 13.47 @ 104mph with like 60' times. Now I have more mods, but have had really bad traction issues. DR's are coming soon.

I got a set of the new MT ET Streets and they worked really well for me back in September! I got the 265/40-18 (the exact tire has gotten a GT500 into the high 10s so I know the tire is good) and have them on a set of fanblades. I had them down to 15 psi (the lowest MT recommends) and I had no tire spin at all and made my car bog down almost all the way to or just past the 60' mark. I only picked up .004 on my previous 60' times, but gained almost a tenth at the end of the 1/4 mile I know now, with the auto, I need to free up and add more power to get me moving.

I'm probably going with the MT's but 275/40R17 on a set of 17's just for the track.

These GT500 rims are way too heavy to get decent times with... Though I did get a new best with them last night of 13.1 @ 106mph.

Why does every one call the "strip" the "track" here? A track is a road course. A strip is a drag strip.

So for the Olimpics they run the 100m dash down the strip, not the track.

Strip & Field doesn't sound right.

Most of us never go to a road course, so we call the drag strip "the track" & people usally know what we mean.
