finished the bottom end today.....(pics)

i got it all finished up today, i only need a few more little things before i can yank the old motor out and drop this one in, now im realy starting to get excited!!!







once i get it all finished and running, i can start saving for a little spray!!!!!

Noice!!! Can't wait man. Looking good! I may have missed it but what kind of rods are you running?

there ACE forged i beams, they can take 600hp, and i got them for a good deal, so i couldnt pass them up....

On a 1-10 scale how hard was assembling the bottom end?

maybe a 3, its simple, the only part that is a pain in the a$$ is having to plastigauge all the main and rod bearing, some people dont do that, but it's how you find out if all you oil clearences are right, but this is the 4th or 5th motor i have built.......

mod motor short blocks are very easy to assemble. theres no cam to deal with, so its just properly torquing, and dropping in a crank and throwing pistons in. when i assemble, i mic everything as well as plastigauge. i also only use ARP fasteners.

its so easy to assemble, that ford screws it up. read about all the Aluminator failures and you will know what i mean.

a few weeks ago, i found the block locally for $100, i started off just doing heads, and it turned into this.......

got the oil pump, pick up, and windage tray on today

the cast 2v block are pretty strong, not realy sure on there limit though.....

but the 96-98 cobra teksid aluminum block are alot stronger then 2v blocks.....

cast 2V good for 600, teksid rated at 800 builders say 1000
