Could you explain how to datalog the A/F with your software then? I am a bit confused. I am just curious to know because I have not had any experience with Sniper, nor do I know anyone who has run it before. It seems like it could be a little more user friendly than the SCT stuff. (Although I already know how to use the SCT software)

I decided to have James @ RWTD tune the cobra....and holy cow he did explain alot of what he was doing and it freegin blew me away. Alot of it even went over my head...and I am def no noob. He gets super deep into the tune and makes it truely right....but the only way to find these tuning techniques out is to join a forum where they all talk...its $100 a year or something I think.

Yes, I tune my own car with the PRP. It is easier for me to understand because that is what most performance shops tend to use for tuning and I know a lot of tuners.

You would be surprised what you can learn on ModFords if you spent some time reading. James seems to be familiar with the software but I have a close friend who had him mess up a tune for his car and his customer service SUCKS!

It seems like 2002BLGT seems to be very on top of his customer service.

I just use 2 separate datalogs from my LM-1 , datalog air/fuel and RPM , and then datalog the Sniper Recon with your basic PIDs loaded , fuel trims , MAF volts , etc, and RPM , and then use both charts to compare RPM/ MAFvolts , and air/fuel ........they same way every SCT dealer did it before people figured out how to datalog the air/fuel with the SCT programmers

I just recently installed a vortech kit on the stang, would this software work well for me? I have nothing in it but the stock tune, and have yet to crank it. (Winter blows!) How in depth are the options to change things, like for a GT supercar pump and 42lb injectors? Would I need to see the tuner at least once?

I will not do the gt supercar pump. its not a option. However if you call up sniper they can probably do something for you. there customer service is second to none.

special forces will build you a base tune witch will be very conservitive and the driveablility wont be that good. But it will be safe enough to drive and you shouldnt have to worry about blowing up your engine. You will have to see a dyno guy if you want the car to run right very seldom can you tune a supercharged car with the SF kit. Before you buy I would call up sniper and ask about the fuel pump and see if they have a dyno guy near you.

Just get it from 2002BLGT. You can do a base tune with the software and send him the tune. He can edit it and tune your car remotley Just data log with the recon software and the a wide band and he can work wonders. My Lincoln runs like a rapped ape And the software does have paramiters for all your mods. As far as the fuel pump you can just set it for one thats close. It has twin Cobra pumps, different aftermarket pump capacities and Focus pumps. You can get it close enough and Willie can tweak it the rest of the way.

The customer sevice is stellar and I have great faith that when Willie is done with the Cobra tune I will have 50 more horses then I did before With my mods I should have damn near 500 rwhp

You should have no problem loading your own base tune and have no issues and great driveability. You just may be leaving 20 or so horses on the table but as i said, Willie or Pat can make it just right!

I basically did the same thing when tuning my GT. My wideband would not interface with the SCT software at all. I just used my aeroforce gauge that my wideband is hooked into....record RPM and A/F. Then do a backup pull datallogging mainly MAF volts, AD counts, and RPM....along with other things.

Then painstakingly put the aeroforce data into an excel spread sheet along with the SCT datalog and factor in the correction needed to attain my commanded A/F across the RPM range. It worked but its a pain....and the neighbors were pretty much hating life

I have done several Vortech Gts with Focus or cobra pumps , 42s and Lightning 90mm MAF ......the stock Sniper tune is overly rich with that setup but I have done enough of them to get it real close right off the bat .....shoot me an email at dirtydirtyracing@yahoo.com ..... you will need to get a wideband to get the air/fuel adjusted where it needs to be ....
