Tonight was my first time at the track. My first run ever was a 14.8 & 96.4 mph with a best time of 14.5 @ 97.5 mph. Is that a respectable time for my car with just a K&N and catback? Any suggestions on how to quickly make her go faster? Thanks for the help in advance.
Definitly good for your first time! Next time you go to the track those times will creap down.

I remember my first time at the track in my other car, knowing what it "should" be running. Was pretty disapointed after a few runs, but I kept improving and eventualy got it to where it was supposed to be.
You 60 foot times need major work, BUT, your ET and trap is impressive with those lousy 60 foot times. This tells me the car has potential. Drop it to 2.0 and you should take off .3 - .4 from your ET. Drop to 1.8 and ... you know the rest.
Before dropping money on tires, just take some air out. Drop your pressure to about 18 - 20 psi in the back and try dropping the clutch at about 3500 rpms. With a little practise, you should get 2.0 60 foot times. With better tires (I assume they are stock), 1.8 is definately a possibility.
well i think you did pretty well for your first time, i've certainly seen alot worse. like everyone is saying practice the launch to get your 60's in the 2 flat range & you'll be doing alot better. a 2.2 isn't a "horrible" 60, but it's not good either. after you get the launch down then start paying very close attention to your shift points to see where you car is making the best runs. hint.... the higher the shift doesn't always result in a better time (you may know that, but it's a common misconception)
Basically I plan on doing gears longtubes and some sort of intake. The car is going to stay naturally aspirated and I would like to get it into the mid to low 13's, if possible. Thanks for all the input, can't wait to get back onto the track.
