First Time Lapping Pics

Decided to try lapping for the first time and I have to say it is the MOST fun I've ever had with a car.

The old SN95 held it's own out there :D. Very hard on brakes and tires. Over cooked the stock brakes one time trying to late brake but they came back after a few corners. Still no vibration when braking though. That is my next upgrade.

Here are some pics. I'll be getting some on track pics mid week.

Lapping is basically running your car at a track but unlike drag racing, there are also curves thrown in the mix.

A friend of a friend organized it and it included race instructors that gave a quick theory course in the morning. Then we basically followed the instructors car around the track for about 20 mins to see the diffrent lines that could be taken. After that, we were free to run as often as we wanted.

As for how my car did against the Porsche's. You'd be SO surprised how well it did :D. I actually have an in car vid (my friend holding a shakey camera) and in this 2 min vid, I'm actually closing in on one lol. Don't really want the vid all over the net but if your really intested, pm me. Now of course everyone drives at their own comfort level but still.

As for what I've learned at this first event: Need better brakes, never seen so much brake dust on my mags (last pic), I've NEVER seen my fuel gauge drop SO fast and man can an event like this kill your tires. I had a GREAT time. Felt kind of sweet passing the stock 05 Mustang GT on the track.

One last thing, this was not a timed event. No stop watches anywhere.
